Do Jews and Muslims believe in the same God ? I am excluding Christians since most Christians believe in 3 gods in the Trinity. In my view Christians don't worship God they worship a man a human being. I just think that Judaism is closer to Islam then Christianity.

asalaam aleykum,

Yes they do as we, with the variations as they(Think as) are the beloved becasue of their relationship with Prophet Ibrahim(a.s)

If my understandig is wrong concerning christians then correct me please

christians never have three gods, but if you mean:-
by the name of the father
of the son
of the holyghost

that it dosent at all resemble as their god but as you are well awre of that of course.

They i mean christians, do beleive in 1 god.....
and they have been very very kind(to Muslims) since those days "at abysinia" Ethiopia. and I respect 'christians and christianity' eventhought their forefathers yet as are my closest friends i find none better after muslims.

thank you

As a former Christian I must say, do you know what you are talking about? Christians does not believe in 3 Gods..although someone already explain that good. You must know Allah swt have said there will be good people of the book? We all beleive in one same God. I have since I was a child prayed to one God. Although the treenity is what made me think of Islam.

A Short Lesson on Christianity

Jesus (pbuh) came to warn the Jews against the continuing disobedience of the Children of Israel against Allsh Subhana Wa Ta'ala and the devaince from His laws which were given to Moses (pbuh). The relgious order of the Jews were so corrupt that it was undistinguishable from the belief system that belongs or Abraham (pbuh) and the devine laws that were given to Moses (pbuh). The Jewish priesthood then rejected Jesus' (pbuh) teachings and excluded his followers from the Jewish religion, there was internal strife between the disciples of Jesus (pbuh) and a man called Saul of Tarsus who was a Pharissee of the Jewish priestly tradition, he claimed to have had a vision of the risen Jesus (pbuh) and he single handedly started the new religion of Christianity. His teachings were later included in the new Christian canon and it was ratified in the Council of Nicea in AD 325 by the Roman Emperor Constantine. Hence from there on the new religion was mixed with the pagan worship system of the Romans.

Jesus (pbuh) was made a deity. They claimed that Jesus was part of the trinitarian god-head formed by the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. One God but three different entities or attributes. By the way nobody can explain this concept even today after two thousand years. So Jesus (pbuh) was part of the god-head who came down to earth as a man to be sacrificed for the sins of Adam (pbuh) and hence of mankind. So in effect Jesus (pbuh) was both part of the God-head and also the Son of God as the man Jesus (pbuh).

So the Christians do not really believe in three gods but one god comprising of three distinct personlaties.

I hope the above is clear. lol

Muhsin Khan

Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him to the Jews and Christians), "Dispute you with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? And we are to be rewarded for our deeds and you for your deeds. And we are sincere to Him in worship and obedience (i.e. we worship Him Alone and none else, and we obey His Orders)." 2:139

In term of concept of God, neither Judaism nor Christianity closer to Islam. Both committed shirk, refer Qur'an:

And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth! [At-Tawbah, 9:30]

However, among the followers of these 3 religions the Quran says Jews (and Mushrikins) show strongest enmity towards Islam but Christians are closer to Muslims:

Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikun (see V.2:105), and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud. [Al-Ma'idah, 5:82]

... if only they (the Christians):

And if only they had acted according to the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Quran), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course (i.e. they act on the revelation and believe in Prophet Muhammad SAW like 'Abdullah bin Salam), but many of them do evil deeds [Al-Ma'idah, 5:66]

In short, they all believe in the concept of God, and differ in describing His attributes.

Asalaam aleykum,

in a matter of fact i sometimes sit and think or visualize.

soon after the death of Our Prophet (s.a.w) their arises conflicts and not only that divisions and the worst Killings.

An inner voice of my soul do ask-did they have the book of Allah?
Koran Kareem.
Why then they didn't refer to it(KURAN) as WE nowadays understand It (per translation with little knowledge of Arabic)

here to me it seems as a Puzzle.

But now seeing the very Muslim leaders(instead Refering that KITAB (they are sorting to the way of Kufr)

Isnt it similar to the those days !!
