Smile for Allah
:salam2:
My imaan has been down for a few weeks. Even though I'm still routinely praying salaat and everything, the same fervour isn't there.
I was just reading a book to get back into things, and it discouraged me even more - there were some stories of the Sahaba, and how someone built a house with a dome on it, and the Prophet s.a.w. wouldn't talk to him so that person burned the house down. And then one of the Umm ul momineen built up a wall with unbaked bricks, and the Prophet (s.a.w.) came back and said that the worst way to waste money is to raise houses with it. But then, look at our world now. We have such big houses and everything, how will we ever gain Allah's pleasure this way? Reading all this depressed me even more. I feel hopeless, like no matter how much I try, I can never attain and be a good muslim. It's impossible in our modern current world. I wish I lived back then, 1400 years ago.
Sigh.
