If anyone still cares I actually did email Nestle regarding this just to be on the safe end!And this is their reply!

"Dear Mohamed,

Thank you for contacting Nestlé Middle East, and for your interest and concerns with regards to KIT KAT®!
The whey is from a cow’s milk source and is extracted through bacterial cultures.

We do use some rennet for the wafer manufacturing in KIT KAT® but it is from a bacterial culture and not an animal origin.
The vanilla is alcohol free. When its mentioned vanilla flavor or natural vanilla flavor, the source is solely vanilla beans.

Please note that Nestlé products worldwide maintain the same quality which is constantly being improved. However the aspects of each product vary, i.e. products produced for the Middle East are different from those available in Brazil, India etc.

Having said this, Since your query is with regards to the KIT KAT® manufactured in UAE, it is important to note that since it is produced in an Islamic country it is not mandatory to provide Halal proof on the packaging. All raw materials are controlled and monitored by Dubai Municipality ensuring that it complies with Halal status.

All Nestlé products in the Middle East market distributed through Nestlé Middle East must follow strict regulations and meet Islamic standards so they are 100% Halal as mandated by the law. Also note that the distribution of these products will not be approved by the authorities in this region unless it meets the local standards. That is why we assure you that all Nestlé products in the Middle East region are Halal.

Thanks & Best Regards.

Great job for emailing them, brother - now you can rest assured and have peace of mind. They were very detailed in their response. And so it's probably safe to assume that products manufactured in the Middle East, of big companies at least, will be monitored by Halal committees.

Enjoy your KitKat.

P.S. About my sig, gimme a reason and I would have no problem changing it. I'm open to corrections.

Barikillah Fik. You have a woman in the signature, so you should remove it, sometimes the eyes might be more harmful than the face. Whether it is harmful or not, it is not important, just because some scholars have said it is obligatory to cover the face it doesn't mean a woman in niqab can take pictures of herself and show it to men. Also, I wonder if that woman likes to see her picture everywhere since it seems it was a journalist that took a picture of her??

Last but not least, would you like to put a picture of yourself like that? I hope I havent offended you that was NOT my Niyyah (intention). May Allaah forgive us.

You make sense. I'm proud to have brothers like you in the Ummah. JazaakAllaahu khayraa.

P.S. I guess I was trying to stand up against the niqaab haters or something?!

Jazakillah Khayr.

It was evident you wanted to stand up for sisters in niqab, no doubt, but know that there are hypocrites calling themselves Muslims who hate niqab.

Am I being too hard on myself ? lol I dont know maybe I am. May Allah SWT Guide me and all of us to make religion easy!

Assalaamu Alaikum,

Good, you have made the move, and got the answer. Nestle being a business enterprise, will always try to reduce its cost and work, like any other enterprise. The answer they gave today may not remain same, if there is a change in the regulators and the vigil of regulators. Constant vigil, both at personal level and societal is always needed...

Jazakallaahu Khairan.
