Gaze - A Poisoneus Arrow of Shaytan
Today, I wish to highlight the fact that television is an instrument of violating the injunction of hijab. we all know that a non-mahram man cannot look at a non-mahram woman and vice versa. The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) has said,
'Verily, the gaze is a poisonous arrow from the arrow of Shaytan.' (Tabrani, Hakim)
One might, while walking or driving, throw his gaze towards a woman passing by. The eyes are only acting as windows for the lustful desires of the heart and the images are being implemented into the bosoms of the heart.
Lower Your Gazez
That is why the Glorious Quran commands :
Say to the believing men that they should lower their gazez and guard their medesty. (Glorious Quran 24:30)
Today, however, we walk with our necks stretched high and gaze upon anyone we like and only occasionally look away from woman for the sake of piety. The Prophets, Sahabah and the pious walked with their eyes cast down and only looked up when it was necessary. Why? Because our Creator has commanded us thus. And it is also true that onece the gaze falls opon a woman one finds desirable, then it is difficult to quickly divert the gaze. This fact is even more evident in the environment we live in today. That is why the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) was instructed to command his followers to lower their gazes when they venture outside their homes. If the gaze remains pure and clean, and then the heart and mind will also remain pure, and if the gaze is adulterous then the heart and mind will also become adulterous.
One looks at this woman and that one. He appreciates some aspect of this and some of the other and slowly his wife starts to look inadequate to him abd his affection for her decreases. And as time passes he loses all interst in her as he compares this one individual with thousands of others. His peaceful life will shatter and his tranquility and serenity will vanish. However if his eyes are used according to Sharee'ah - lowered and kept pure, then his heart and mind will remain content and the only love he will entertain in his heart and mind is that of his wife.
To the woman, a similar law applies. It does not mean that if they put on a veil, they can gaze upon men from it, They have been commanded not only to cover their faces but also to lower their gazes.
Again the Glorious Quran states :
And tell the believing woman that they should lower their gases and guard their modesty: that they should not display their beuty and ornaments. (Glorious Quran, 24:31)
Why? Because gaze is one of the poisonous arrow of Shaytan.
Taste the Sweetness of Iman
The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) has mentioned a great reward for one who guards his sight for Allah, in private as well as in public, while reading a magazine or a newspaper, whilst walking or driving a car. So Rasoolullah (PBUH) has wanred that the sight is a weapon of Shaytan. Whosoever, male or female, controls his/her sight for the Pleasure of Allah, will receive a great reward. It is reported on the authority of Aboo Umamah (RA) that the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said,
'A Muslim whose glance falls on the beuty of a woman and the he lowers his gaze (and does not look at her again), Allah will bless him with worship, the sweetness of which he will find in his heart.' (Musnad ahmad)
Allah Almighty will sow a seed of Iman in such an individual's heart, the sweetness of which he will taste before death on this earth. My friends, the one who tastes the glories and sweetness of iman in this world, how fortunate and enviable that person is?
Lustful Eye
My friends, only Allah knows best, but many individuals exhibit piety in public, whilst in private they are using theit sight to appropriate lustful desires. Beware my friends! Allah ta'ala is aware of everything. Remember Allah ta'ala is so powerful that not only is He Aware of our unlustful gazes but also He has knowledge of the thoughts and desires of our hearts and minds. The Quran states:
He (Allah) knows the treachery of the eyes, and all that the hearts conceal. (Glorious quran, 40:19)
My brothers and sisters, by gazing at handsome men and beautiful woman you will achieve nothing except heartache and frustration. By looking at a beautiful woman, you will not bring her into your possession. Heartache is going to be the result. This is Allah's Punishment in this world, and the punishment in the Hereafter is much more grave and perilous; so repent quickly and mend your ways.
Take heed my friends! After having seen one woman, you turn towards another, and yet another, and not being fully satisfied you move onto magazines. But the lust in the heart remains unfulfilled so you move onto *!*!*!*!ographic images on vidoea and television.
When couples sit to watch television, the poor wife thinks my husband is interested in the film and the poor husband also thinks that my wife is interested in the film, but secretly, deep in their hearts, the serpent of lust is hidden and both are admiring, appreciating and desiring the actors and actresses in front of them. The poor souls are only fooling each other at the expense of the love between them and, more seriously my friends, at the expense of incurring Allah's Displeasure. Forgive me brothers, the truth is always bitter and hard, but one does not need to conduct a survey to find out what people think when they are spending hours watching naked woman and men on the filthy box.
Shaytan Runs in Veins Like Blood:
The sexual desires are naturally placed by Allah in all human beings and the flirtatious images you see only goes to intensify the sexual desires. Study carefully what Allah commands and teaches us in the Quran through the incident of Yoosuf alayhis salam:
And she (Zulaykha) verily desired him (Yoosuf), and he would have desired her, If it had not been that he saw the Evidence of his Lord. (Glorious Quran 12:24)
Zulaykha had made up her mind about Yoosuf, and if we(Allah) had not saved Yoosuf then even he would have fallen into the trap. It is We (Allah) that saved Yoosuf - Because know my friends, that Prophets are innocent and immunie from sins. Yoosuf alayhis salam is mentioned in the Quran as saying:
I do not exculpate myself. Lo! The nafs certainly incites evil, save that whereon my lord has mercy. (Glorious quran 12:53)
