As salamo alaikome

Inshallah everyone is in good health and Iman.

I thought I read somewhere that one of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) wives stated that Rasool used to share his Ghusl water with her and they both bathed in the same water??? Does anyone else know about this and am I right( that I did read this???

Assalaam walaikum,

I read it in one of the volumes of Bukhari.

( If the Prophet were my husband I would have done the same) Don't get excited folks.

Ok good so that means its ok to share the water with your husband. Please dont think Im gross or anything but where I live now we sometimes dont have running water and when we do its always cold so we have to heat it to make Ghusl. It would be so much easier if we are able to use the water from the same bucket instead of throwing the left over water out and starting over. The water is clean because we take it out of the bucket with a smaller one to use it so its not like the one left in the bucket is dirty.

Jazakallah khairan for answering Aapa. I pray Allah grants you reward for helping me out with this. Ameen.

Salaam,

Sister...one of the most beautiful gifts Allah has given to us is marriage. That which a man and his wife do is between them. It is not gross to bathe with your husband. It is gross to waste water.

I pray someone with exact knowledge will write a response.

Wa alaikome salam

That was beautiful what you said sister and I agree so much that marriage is such a blessing from Allah.

Im sure it was Bukhari you read it in because so far that is the only book of hadith that I have attempted to read. I was sure I saw it written. If anyone can find the actual hadith and copy/paste here I would appreciate it so much!!!

Wa alaikum asalaam, hope this helps InshAllah.

Narrated ‘Aisha: The Prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot called ‘Faraq’.
[Volume 1, Book 5, Number 250]

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: The Prophet and Maimuna used to take a bath from a single pot.
[Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 5, Number 253]

Narrated Aisha: The Prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot of water and our hands used to go in the pot after each other in turn.
[Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 5, Number 261]

Praise be to Allah!
Wa `alaykkum salaam wa rahmatullaah...

I think this is the hadeeth your talking about... Narrated `Aa'isha radiAllaahu anha:
I and Allah’s Messenger :saw2: took a ghusl due to sexual impurity fromt he same vessel and our hands alternated into it. [Agreed upon, meaning narrated by Bukhaari and Muslim] Ibn Hibbaan added “and (our hands) met.”

This narration actually shows that it is Mustahabb (recommended) for the husband and wife to bath "together".

Another narration that is worthy of mention is: A man who accompanied the prophet :saw2: narrated: Allah’s Messenger (saw) forbade a women to bathe with the water left over by a man and that a man should not bathe with the water left over by a woman (but instead) they should both take scoopfuls of the water together. [Reported by Aboo Dawood and An-Nasaa’ee and its chain of narrators is Saheeh (authentic)].

With regards to this narration, the Majority of scholars say that it is not haraam for a woman to bath with the water left over by a man or vice versa. But what this hadeeth does indicate is the recommendation of the husband and wife having a bath together, and Allaah knows best.

Ahhhh this puts a different light on things doesnt it???? So its best to bathe together rather than one after the other using the same water. Interesting. Jazakallah khairan for this information.
