hey hey hey.am from Malaysia and am not Malay.am from the minority.well yes.perhaps it might be true.no human are perfect and no muslims are perfect.but as a revert i personally believe that Malaysia is the best Muslim country in the world.yes u heard me right.u wanna know why.here it goes:

First of all we 100% follow the Sunnah and the Quran
our leadrs are muslims and THEY follow sunnah and Quran
our muslim marriage is very complicated and takes a long process just to make sure that ur partner is a muslim
when we convert-they take care us very well and give all the help.we have many orginization to help reverts(they give money to those needs till 5 years)
we have many mosques and the best things is IT IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY AND THE OFFICIAL RELIGION IS ISLAM.
Our islam religion still survives even though there are non-muslims-chinese,indians,and christians
we have islamic UNiversity
we muslims are united and we do have strictly following islam state-kelantan.

MALAYSIAN MUSLIMS ARE THE BEST

i don't see all these things in any of the arab countries
AND ISLAM CAME TO MALAYSIA LIKE 100 YEARS A GO
but those arab countries, how many years u have been muslims?
there is even arab country who do not allow women to wear hijab, and MEN cannot hv beard

what up guys???????????

my country,we respect those with beards and we respect Arabs.

MALAYSIA IS THE BEST.WE CAN PRACTICE ISLAM AS HOW THE QURAN ASKED US AND WE CAN FREELY FOLLOW THE SUNNAH.
and we are very active in da'wah .

PLZ COMMENT UR OWN COUNTRY.U DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY COUNTRY,DONT U DARE SAY A WORD.AM NOT GONNA TOLERATE WITH IT ANYMORE.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm sure in your answer you'll see that BLACK is conspicously missing! Malay, Indian, Chinese etc these are all Asians, ONE RACE. BLACK people are of a different race.

Sadly similiar thing happens in India to the black students. But, in very less magnitude.

For example, people refer to black students as negros or habshis, even though the student might have never seen Habasha even in his/her dream!

But, I would like to point out that it is more because of their ignorance of geography rather racsim.

But, Sisters are respected, even the worst of the people do respected them.

Have you heard
About Malaysia?
where racism is rife
perpetrated by malay people?
agains fellow muslims?
where chinese non believer..
will treat you better than the malay muslims?
subhanallah, subhanallah,
they cove their mouths and noses when you get near
they leave the place when you entre
and hey dirty looks galore
dehumanising and humiliating things
a people with no basic taqwa
such filthy shameful ignorance
there's just no excuse for that!

Wallahi i got so emotional when i was told this by my little sister, its happening to her! subhanallah. and this is not in a little village, no, its in their capital city! Subhanallah!

I am so sad right now, its unbelievable whats happening over there. i never thought i would say this against muslims, but i hate these malay people for what they are doing to my sister! i hope i never have the misfortune of meeting one! Without being to their country and ever meeting one of them i HATE them.

My dear brothers and sisters please make dua for my sister, for her eman to be intact and for Allah to give her sabr, she has one more year to go. Hasbunallah wani'mal wakeel.

the problem is with the so called malays and not the country.....i myself have problem with them but again there are 2 types of malays in malaysia-the religious and non religious.and it is all about individuals.nothing to do with the religion, race or people.maybe these certain individuals are having problems, some kind of attitude problem.

From her experience, she hasn't seen this from the chinese people, they let you be. these are the non believers who are better than muslims, this is what realy hurt me subhanallah

Once more, pls accept my apology for the bad experience your sister encountered in M'sia. "she hasn't seen this from the chinese people" likewise she may not have seen bad chinese and good Malay Muslims, surprising to me.

When an Indian revert to Islam, mind you doesn't matter how dark he is, one Malay family will come fwd as foster parents for him. Though not all, but there are good Malays.

Not really brother, we are not in denial. When I was teenage, I used to go out with friends. Before giving permission, my mother will ask with whom I'm going out. If I say with Malay friends, she will say go ahead. If I say with Indian she will say no. Those days Indian parents trust Malays more than their own race, maybe now this is not really happening no thanks to some of our racist politician who are sleeping with their "divide and rule" principle.

My wife is a revert just like me, she is not same colour with Malay women. But believe me her only good friends now are Malays whenever they met they will hug her and kiss her cheek. I've never seen this before. I'm talking about good muslimmah. Good Malay Muslims are the one help and daawah me to revert to Islam.

Malay Muslims in Malaysia do have problems, like sister revert2007 said, there two type of Malays. Initially I do critisize Malay Muslims and boast about Indian Muslims coz of their advancement in businesses. But in term of bid'ah practices, Malays are more careful if compared to my own race, Indian Muslims. So, black sheep in every community is are reality.

I do go to college and university student and do daawah programs with them. I gave talks recently and told them their shortcomings. Likewise, maybe your sister can help daawah them about being true Muslims.

Just convince your sister and tell her just forget and forgive her brothers and sisters from the Malay community. If she still feel very upset, let me know I will get my wife to talk her if you don't mind.

Please be rational. You have not been to Malaysia yet you insulted the Malay race as being racist, ignorant and people with no basic taqwa. Your heart is now filled with hatred of the Malay people based on what your sister had told you about Malaysia.

I am not from Malaysia but I live in a neighbouring country and I know the Malay people very well. Your sister should not judge people's mind (she said they give a look of 'how dare you be a muslim'!) from the way they look at her. I speak Malay and I know Malay custom but I do not know how to give that 'how dare you be a muslim'! look.
As brother Abubaseer pointed out that it has more to do with ignorance of each other culture and custom rather than racism.

Malay people are generally kind, gentle and non confrontational. Freedomfighter gave a good advice that your sister should stand up for herself and things should turn out better.

Let me tell you something unique about the Malay race.
A person can only call himself a Malay if he is a Muslim. A person born to Malay parents cannot call himself a Malay if he is not a Muslim. If this is racist, then the Malay people should be proud of it.

On the other hand if a non muslim( a white, black, chinese, indian or others) reverts to muslim, he becomes not only a Muslim but also becomes a Malay if he practises Islam and Malay custom. That is, the Malay community embraces him as a Malay. Is this racist?.

Brother Hard Rock Moslem,

I support your idea to ask your wife or other sister in Malaysia to help our sister to understand the custom and culture of the Malays.
InsyaAllah this will help to enlighten whatever misunderstanding and misconceptions our sister had based on her bad experiences.

I'll thank you to drop your condenscending attitude.

I have not seen what you wish to present to me about these people, i have only 'seen' what my sister sees and what i 'see' leaves much to be desired.

You can give any testimony about a people but unless you see through a black persons lens the treatment they have received, your point of view is pretty much worthless.

Brother Hard rock muslim, first off i' am a sister, and more importantly thank you for offering to support my sister over there, i'll speak to her and find out if she would like to get in touch with your wife. But the most important thing to her right now are halaqah's for sisters in english, she's been looking but so far she hasn't found any, so if you have any ideas i'll be pleased to offer them to her.

So so sorry sister.

About the halaqah, my wife do have a group of Muslim sisters they meet up every week but in Malay language. Not to worry, I will contact one sisters' Muslim NGO and will let you know if they do have any.
