Help after Fajr prayer

BADTASTEBEARS

Fear Allah
:salam2:

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "Whosoever offers his morning (fajr) prayer in congregation, then remains seated making the dhikr of Allah until the sun rises, and thereafter offers two rakats, they will receive the reward of performing a Hajj and Umrah." (Sunan Tirmidhi, no: 586)

I was wondering what is the 2 rakaat after sunrise. Is it the dhuha prayer?

And it's been said 'those remain seated'. What if after Fajr i get up to get to another place like less then 10 metres away or to go get a drink and then seat to do dhikr, will i still get the reward?

JazakAllah khayr in advance!

wassalam.

yes the 2 rakah would refer to salatul duha

you will still be rewarded even if you went up to get a glass of water as actions are based on intentions and one is rewarded for their intentions.

this hadeeth is also applicable to women who pray together in the house

Salatul Doha:

Its time is from twenty minutes after the sunrise till twenty minutes before Salatul Dhohr.

It is a minimum of two Rak`ats and a maximum of eight.

Um Hani Said, “The Prophet (pbuh) performed eight Rak`ats of Doha prayer with a Tasleema (the action of ending a prayer) after each two Rak`ats.”

...
This correct?

yes the 2 rakah would refer to salatul duha

Asalaamu alaikum -

Are you sure about that? I was always under the impression that the 2 rakats mentioned in that hadith were specifically for the purpose of gaining that reward. I have never heard of duha being tied to that specific reward or to this hadith. Otherwise the hadith would have said "and thereafter offers duha..." instead of a generic 2 rakats.... in my humble and inexperienced opinion, that is.

I mean, it would make sense but I always thought they were unrelated.

I could be wrong...
...and probably am...
...but there you go :)

I'm a brother (Danyal). I did read the hadith, which is what I was replying to, I'm not sure why you think I didn't read it.

I appreciate the input, I will ask my shaykh tonight after Maghrib insh'a Allah.

Salamu alaikum, Brother Danyal made a good point, however, generally what is prayed after fajir would be Salatul Duha, but that is not to say one can not pray 2 rakah nafl, and then duha later.

perhaps your shaykh will further enlighten us

I've also heard that its not the dhuha prayer but Salat al-Syuruq (sunrise prayer)?

:salam2:
I learned that it's isyraq prayer (I hope I got the term right); 20 mins after syuruq. Dhuha prayer could be done after that till noon. But then let's get this right from a more reliable source.
