I have used dried ground tea leaves but have not been good at making it right.

So like I have used all my life, I use tea bag and add green cardamom and another spice but I don't know name in english but in Arabic it is Zur or garumfil. It makes the tea so delicious. Sometimes I will add mint too.

Please give me recipes to make different types please? I love tea

I like to add cinnamon, cardamom, and some cloves w/o the ball part on the top. I also like to cook the tea w/ milk instead of adding milk at the end, it just makes the tea taste better however it will not stay fresh longer. Hope you like it, my family loves it.

I love peppermint tea(my favorite) with honey and sometimes lemon. Chamomille and ginger tea and lemon tea. Honey adds zest to anything, mashallah!

Akhi..Qranfil is called *cloves* in English...thought I'd put it for future reference :)

Now...I am Iraqi..and I will give you the steps to how we make our tea..we're famous for our cardamom (hail) infused type...

First of all..you might need some shopping to do..to make good tea of any type..even if not infused with any cloves..cardamom..etc.

You need a teapot with an infuser!

Here are some pictures for reference:

http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/10f/f/AAAAAuVtzSEAAAAAAQ_2uA.jpg

The steps are very simple...

1. Boil water (as much as you want/need) in the teapot.
2. Move teapot from heat.
3. Once the water boils, drop a couple cardamom pieces in the water.
4. Put in the infuser.
5. Immediately put in about 1 to 1.5 medium scoops of tea.
6. Let the tea rest in the water for about 3-5 minutes (depending on how dark and strong you like your tea)
7. Pour it in the cute little Arabic teacups..and enjoy! :)

Notes...

* The best teas are the ones that come with big leafs such as:

Ahmad Tea

Al-Ghazaleen Tea (this is the one we LOVE in our house..and everyone RAVES about :))

http://www.andrefood.com/ZenCart/images/andre_boxrblkghz.jpg

These teas already have very distinctive smells (very nice smell) and have very very good taste as well..so if you like to infuse your tea with something else..it will taste even better :)

* If you ever want to use spices for infusing tea..do not use grounded spices..use the *actual clove* or the *actual cardamom*..it gives stronger smell & taste and it's easy to pick out

* If you like your tea amber colored..3 minutes for a medium sized teapot..are sufficient to "rest" the tea

I hope I was of help to you..I probably didn't contribute much..but I owe you one..so thought I should spill-in what I know :shymuslima1:

jazaki allahu khairan, that is what I was looking for, in fact I have everything you mentioned but never used the infuser except to strain the tea when I pour into a thermostat. I never tried Ahmed tea or Al-Ghazaleen but I will definitely try them. I will tell you, I make huge messes when making it, so maybe now with your advice there will be no mess and great tasting tea.

jazaki Allahu khairan, I never tried Chamomille, but I see it has some great benefits, I plan to try this out. Although, I will use a mint that freshly grows in my yard with it as well, not sure what type of mint it is but it tastes good.

jazaki Allahu khairan, adding the milk, not from the beginning but cooking it just a little tastes very good. But the milk has to be carnation. I can't have this all the time, I just can't take more than a small cup.

Thank you, for your posts, they really help me sample different methods of making it. This will make my studying more relaxing in sha Allah.

Green Tea is really good, I recommend it.

You shouldnt add sugar but if you have to have it sweet, add honey.

As-salaamu `alaykum.

I like peppermint tea, Earl Grey and Green Tea... that's about it. Moroccan Filawi (however you choose to spell it) is nice maa shaa Allaah. Anyhow, my kettle blew up today. Funny I talk about tea after that happened, instead of drinking it when I could've!

my favourite is jasmine tea,and "bombay tea",
you shuold try jasmine tea,it is really easy to make, just place some blooming jasmines in to the tealeaves/teabags container and leave it overnight. If you are love jasmine taste more than leav the flowers there or else you can removes it after a day.now your blacktea will have a light jasmine tea which i really lurrve.
okay recipe for bombay tea. just add condensed milk while cooking tea.let it boil for 3-5 minutes,it really taste 3 times better than adding milk to tea afterwards.:)

Orange tea:
You have tried lemon tea; now experiment with tangy orange
2cups of water
11/2 cup orange juice
1/4tsp sugar
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/8tsp cloves, ground
2 teabags
In a saucepan, heat orange juice, water, sugar and spices until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes. Strain out tea bags and serve hot.

Apple and Honey Iced Tea:
A sweet and fruity drink, perfect for a hot summer afternoon
3cups of water
4 tea bags
1/3 cup honey
3 cups apple juice
Steep tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes. Strain out tea bags and stir in honey and juice. Mix until honey is dissolved. Chill and serve over ice.

Iced Tea Tipple
2tsp apple cider
Dash of bitters (optional-if your tea is astringent enough, you won’t need it.)
1 cup of chilled packaged iced tea
Apple or peach to garnish
Fill a tall lemonade glass with ice cubes. First pour in the liquor, then add bitters, if using. Gently pour in the tea over a spoon. Add a garnish of fruit peel.
