It is a form of shirk asking the dead one for help. Even in your dua (prayer) you cannot say like Oh Allah on the behalf of (Any dead person) give me .....
Some muslims say that is it ok to ask on the behalf of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH). I say it is also forbidden. Because I saw DR. ZAKIR NAIK in a TV show held in Pakistan asked the similar Question and he said it is Forbidden.

You can see His debats lectures and tv shows at the following site.

http://www.aswatalislam.net/DisplayFilesP.aspx?TitleID=50027&TitleName=Zakir_Naik

You will be able to find your answer at zakir naik question and answer(URDU).

its shirk.
n then i have seen many ppl prostraiting on shrines.
they ask for the help of dead ppl.
infact some molvies suppeort such shirk.
'n they even dont admit that its shirk.
if u try to avoid shirk n biddah ppl will call u wahabies here in pakistan.
may ALLAH protect us all from shirk n biddah.aamin

r u positive cause like every1 nearly every1 here goes there not worshipping them but asking help on behalf of them...infact theres a really famous shrine here in pakistan if uve heard of it called data darbar n its such a huge place but its so crowded n they have that mans body in the centre n people r putting flowers on his coffin n crying n trying to touch it...i mean i felt it was wrong but my dad said its alrite but only to ask Allah subhanahu wataala help them on behalf of these holy people but not to worship them

they are called barelvi or sufi.
it is a deviated sect and they prefer to go to shrine than going to masjid for salah.
they say ya data ,ya rasool, and so on:astag:.its haram and shirk.even women go to shrines.:astag:

my connection is kinda slow so u mind pasting the answer in text cause i dont get it my whole family n relatives say its alrite to go there n ask Allah for help on behalf of them n the wahabis r not the rite sect

Akhi there is 1000 of ways to prove a hadith, and i have allready shown you hadiths and threads.

And the explaination of hadiths a islamic scholar can do better then a Medical DR.

who ever doesnt go to shrines to seek help of dead ppl.
ppl say they r wahabies.
going to shrines ppl call that wasila.
they say that those dead ppl take thier duaas to ALLAH.
but my question is cant they ask ALLAH for help directly y using dead or alive ppl for help.
ALLAH is more closer to us than our neck.
so no need of any WASILA.
u shud ask others help for dua if u directly dont have access to ALLAH almighty.
seeking the help of others is shirk.
in our city there is a shrine which is called SHADOLA PEER.
lots of ppl from diffrent cities come here n seek the help of that person who is dead.
is this not better that u offer ur salah n ask ALLAH for anything u need directly.
ppl say that u need staires to go to roof.
but this is a wrong match.
ALLAH even knows wat v thinck.
so no need of dead or alive ppl for help.
only ALLAH can help.
no other can.
n then ALLAH will forgive any sin if u r a muslim but ALLAH won forgive shirk at all.
so may ALLAH protect us all from shirk n biddah.
aamin sumaamin

Making dua to the Dead and asking them for help is Shirk.

Going to Shrines to think you be blessed is Shirk.

We should seek help from Allah alone. Only Allah can help us.

Those who write and spread Sufi ideas here and misinform people about the reality of Islam and what Tawassul is, will have their Posts deleted. Its not up for debate and really I am shocked people think that this is permissible. Astaghfirullah

And yes Berelwi are Sufis, also they have similar Aqeedah of Shia. The idea there are some good Sufi who have correct belief is also wrong. Sufism is not from Islam. A muslim someone who follows Quran and Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf - Salih (guided Early generation of Muslims)
