I saw fixed cameras all around the masjid al haram, they control them so they are moving automatically. I took many shots and photos from up . there is a big hotel just in front of the masjid, there a camera up taking these wonderful shots of the whole Masjid.

Salam

When I went to Makkah, there were all sorts of signs around the Haram Mosque saying that NO ONE was allowed to take photographs - now I know that they have special cameras sanctioned by the government for airing the prayers on TV.

I would never violate the sanctity of the Haram Mosque by taking photos, especially when their are signs to the contrary.

isnt it hypocrisy .putting signs banning people from doing what they are themselves doing.
either it is allowed or not allowed.

I wouldn't say it's hypocrisy because if they didn't put up signs prohibiting people to take pictures; then i can imagine evryone taking pictures of the Kaaba, or themselves thus causing much distracting and noise. Consider, that that place is a place of WORSHIp and not a fun fair..

Besides, there's a difference between picture taking and filming and Allaah knows best.

May Allaah guide our hearts to His Obediance. Ameen.[
