It is understood that employment is the key issue. It is the underlying cause of the marital strife.
And with the global economy it is getting tougher to find employment.
What I am having difficulty understanding is the big commotion. The respondents thus far do not see the gentleness that a woman has to use in difficult times for the couple.
It is always the wife who has to be the quiet strenght. That comes with the territory.
Let me spell it out. Men when they are facing a crisis close up. Beats me why but that is their nature. So you give him space. The best phrase to use is the simple; Yes, dear..whatever you want dear..and walk away. He is not going anywhere..he doesn't have any money. Can I make it simpler than that.
As to the second marriage...he waits until he has a job. I only brought it up as it was a concern for the wife's friend.
No, the husband is not bi-polar. He is unemployed. He has to find a way to assume responsibility for his family. That is a clinical term that can only be used after a person has had a psychiatric evaluation.
