I don't want THAT Islam! I want Mohamed's Islam
I just heard a true story from a friend of mine, about two guys and I would like to share it with you.
Mohamed is a Muslim who is from one if the Arab countries.
John is Christian who is from the United States.
Both of them are in USA. They are close friends, by the way.
They go together, drink alcohol, flirt, date girls, etc.
One day, John decided to be a Muslim, just like his friend, Mohamed. So he told Mohamed that he wants to be a Muslim, and asked him to teach him what to do or how to do it in order to be a Muslim.
Unfortunately, Mohamed had no idea what to answer him! what a shame!
Therefore, Mohamed asked his friend John to go with him to the Masjid to meet the Imam, then to do whatever is needed to be a Muslim.
The Imam was happy, started to explain what a Muslim should do, and what should NOT do. When the Imam reached "a Muslim should not drink alcohol, or date girls, etc". John interrupted the Imam saying: " wait wait wait, this is NOT Islam! I don't want THAT Islam! I want my friend Mohamed's Islam so we can drink and date girls!" :astag:
I don't know the rest of the story.
I know Mohamed should adhere to the teachings of Islam from the bottom of his heart (Believe in it as a faith), but at least should have been ashamed of the name he carries when he behaves wronly. This is one of the worst situations where Muslim people send a negative image about sincere Muslims and Islam.
Stories like this, make me angry.
