I have to confess something - I only found out about madhabs a few years ago when I came to the UAE, when someone asked me what madhab I followed, and I replied, "I'm a Muslima". A little embarrassing! I haven't seen the video yet - but will tomorrow, insha'Allah.

Absolutely. The Quran orders us to follow the revelation (Sunnah and the Quran itself). We can not overlook the Sunnah in favour of following any madhab (or taqleed as practiced in Indian subcontinent).

We should follow whatever reaches us which has sound evidence (daleel) from the Quran and Sunnah, it can reach us from any madhab or any knowledgeable reliable scholar of Ahlus Sunnah. We should accept it and not ignore it saying that "Oh.. I am from XYZ madhab and you narrate this opinion of another madhab/scholar".

The four major imams themselves warned us against taking their words if it were in opposition to the revelation (wahi). We should be balanced in our religion and not fall on either side of the extremities.

Wa Iyyakum to all. These days Madhabs have become like sects due to the action of some people. Therefore I found this video really useful to tackle these issues.
