Feeling low
Yes its also from the etiquettes of the Prophet Mohammed Sallaluhu Alayhis Sallam that whenever he was served food he use to have it or just didn't if he disliked without criticizing..

God mentions in the holy Quran that the Prophet, peace be upon him, felt shy sometimes, but the prophet never lied; he simply said nothing. When he had to say something he said the truth and he put it gently. A great example of that is that one time Khaalid ibn Al-Waleed, may God have been pleased with him, invited him and others to dinner. Khaalid served a grilled porcupine. Everybody started to eat it except the prophet! Khaalid panicked as he thought that maybe porcupine meat was forbidden and he asked the prophet. The prophet answered him, "No, but I find myself disliking it."

:salam2:

jazakAllahukhairan, dubb is one of the desert lizards, as I understood. not a porcupine, I don't even know if there are any that live in the desert.

wa Allah ya'lam

As Salamu 'Alaykum,

When does a "white lie" (Sorry for the racist language) become a lie which will send you to Jahannum? I tried every combination of words of which I could think and found nothing but anti-Islamic Propaganda. But that happens alot when you put the words Islam, Quran, Allah, etc in a search. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

That kind of demeanor is indeed more appealing... I imagine it also prevents future conflicts because you are being truthful to yourself...you don't send mixed signals...

Me too, I hate eating in front of people..

But nowadays, if someone asks you "Have something, you must be hungry.", and if you remain silent because of shyness, they'll just push it on you over and over. People nowadays don't accept silences at all.

Assalamualaykum wa rahmatullah,

ضب as far as I'm concern is a desert's animal. I do understand its a desert lizard as well. I read it in the story during Khaleed al-Waleed wanted to make a hijrah prior to his reversion to Islam.

Wallahua'lam. Allaah knows best.

Wassalam.

Salaamu 'alaykkum... There are some instances in which Islam permits lying, if that serves a greater purpose or wards off a greater harm:

These cases include the following:

1- When a person is intermediating in order to bring about reconciliation between two disputing parties.

2- When a man speaks to his wife, or a wife to her husband, concerning matters that will increase the love between them.

3- War.
