I personally think that wearing make-up and hijab is not permitted, and ridiculous. Although, it doesn't matter what we think is permitted, we are not knowledgeable on giving fatwas. I think you should ask this question to askimam.com or islamqa.com.

Interesting topic sis, well I think it depends….

When you mean make up and hijab then there is putting a little on or going over the top with your blusher.
(lol)
I know sisters who wear hijabs and wear eyeliner.

islam is a religion of moderation..while prolly there might not be anything wrong with makeup and perfume to look presentable , excessive perfume and thick makeup is obviously a nono

(3) And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.
( سورة النور , An-Noor, Chapter #24, Verse #31)

I listened to many religious scholars here in Egypt who said that it is not permissible for the Muslim lady to wear make up in public, specially if it is over.

HOW does a colorful lady walking in the street help men to lower the gaze?

And I have a simple question: Why does a lady wear make up in public?? What does she need from that?? To be beautiful and attractive??? For whom?? For all the men??? That couldn't be the manners of Muslim ladies.

Ithink that each Muslim lady should rather concentrate on her inner beauty, how to beautify her heart, her thoughts, her words, how to increase her faith, her knowledge. That's the real beauty.

Why wear "hijab" to cover up those bit that men stare at and then make your face beautiful for them to stare at!

Youre beautiful anyway, dont clog your pores with crappy chemicals (apart from ur hubby inshallah)
