Jazakallahkhair sister for your concern, But I've found fatwas related to the issue. I think you should read all that are posted above by me. You need to correct your ideas Inshaa'Allaah.

:salam2: sister,Sister, I would like to let you know that the concept of Imsak isn't correct as we've been told to eat until the Fajr athan. Imsak is 10 minutes before the fajr athan, so why would we stop 10 minutes early??

Secondly, we're not supposed to 'say' our intention to fast. This was being discussed only yesterday here: http://www.turntoislam.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79048

Asalmaoalaikom wa rahamtullahi wa barakaatuhu. . .

As per the fatawaas above, one shouldn't really depend on the Adhan itself. The 'actual' time is the breaking of dawn, and the Adhan is dependant on timetables are more than often wrong. But according to Sheikh Uthymin and many others, since we cannot identify the breaking of dawn in cities due to lights and all, there is not harm in following the Adhan i.e starting the fast when the Muezzin gives the adhan.

jazakallah khair for correcting sister Queenislaam.

:salam2:

1)We must stop eating before the Fajar Azan!
Avoid eating on Fajar Azan.

2)Imsak is to getting ready and stop eating!
Finish your food and letting you know Fajar Azan is approaching!
Do not eat and already say your intention before the Fajar Azan .

3)We have to say our intention to fast!
Fasting is an Ibadah.

Saying of Intention(niat) of fast is important because include in:
The Pillars of fast:
1. Saying the intention before fajar Azan to fast in ramadhan.
The Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: Whoever does not intend to fast before the Dawn, then there is no fast for him (Narrated Komsah)
2.Fasting from dawn(fajar azan till sunset(Maghbrib azan).

Thank you for reading.

. It is related that Zayd ibn Thabit said, "We used to have sahur with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Then he stood up for the prayer." Anas said, "I said, 'How long was there between the adhan and sahur?' He said, 'Enough to recite fifty ayats.'

Question:

Does every day on which the fast is performed in Ramadan require an intention, or is it sufficient to make one intention for the whole month?

Answer:
It is sufficient in Ramadan to make one intention at the beginning of it, because even if the fasting person did not make an intention for every day the night before, that was his intention at the start of the month. But if the fasting is broken during the month due to a journey, or illness or the like, he must make the fresh intention, because he has broken it by abandoning the fast due to travel, illness or the like.

No Fatwaa when there's a surah already stated!

“and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night)”
Then complete the fast until the sunset.
[al-Baqarah 2:187]

Dear sister;
When there is a surah from the holy qur'an kalamullah stated, why do you have to relied on fatwah?
There is no need of fatwa here.

1)Stop eating before Azan fajar.
2)One have to already say their intention before the Azan fajar.

The call to Fajr prayer marks the beginning of the obligatory daily fasting (sawm)
during Muslims holy month of Ramadhan.
The Holy Qur'an relates a sura, Al-Fajr, by the same name.

Dear sister;
If you insist on your decision i will have no say any more.

I will respect whatever decision you wish to make and follow
whoever you think is right.

Dear brother,
Refer to above surah(from the holy qur'an) definately the hadeeth you refering is bi'dah.(Not true)

1)Stop eating before Azan fajar.
2)One have to already say their intention before the Azan fajar.

well their are many sites which tell you at what time you start your fast at what time you have to stop. So try to visit that informative blogs and sites. :tti_sister:

Alhamdulilah :)
:salam2:

Well for some of us, we don't hear athaan at all. We're not in the masjid. So we go by time. Is it ok to stop eating at the exact time it says it is going to be time to pray fajr from schedules we got from the masjids?

It is really confusing the time to stop eating, for me at least.

The Hadeeth is allahualim Sahee

I have to mention that during the time of the Prophet (sas) there were two Adhans

The first one was made before Fadjr allahualim from Bilal

and the second was made 15 min later (the sahaba were counting the time by ayats subhanallah) from Abdullah Ummi Maktum allahualim

The prophet said that we are not allowed to eat when we hear the adhan from Ummi Maktum

This means that the Prophet did eat during Bilal made the Adhan

wa allahualim
