Is the big Mosque at Dearborn, Michigan Sunni or Shiaa??

Was just browsing around and ran across some christian site that claimed that the huge American Moslem Society is a shia'at... Then upon going to the official site, it did not look like it's shia'at... Could someone confirm this data for me please??

yes, although they claim they follow ja'afar madhab, what ever that is.

They financed the project through 5th 3rd Bank.

Amercian Moslem Society, http://www.masjiddearborn.org/aboutus.aspx
are Sunni.

The Islamic Centre of America in Dearborn, is shia.

There is also about 5 other mosques that are sunni. within 10 mile radius.

I guess it would be unfortunate to have such big Shia'at dominance at one of the largest mosques of the US.

Is there anyone from that area to clarify all this ??

Why would you be surprised. The American Moslem Society, http://www.masjiddearborn.org/ has more functionality, it is used 5 times a day for prayer, there is cemetary walking distance, there are weekend classes for children. It serves the community well. There is $0 ribba. It is really big because they expanded it recently. But keep in mind there are 5 mosques within a 10 mile area that are Sunni. They all are expanding mashAllah.

The other one http://www.icofa.com was built recently, for something around 12 million, which around 6 million is financed through 5th 3rd bank.

You don't need to live in this area to get this information.

http://www.icofa.com This is a Shi3a Center, unfortanetly many people go there thinking its an Islamic center even many Muslims. Also Dearborn is home to many Shi3a people from Lebanon and Iraq and they tend to be hardcore Shi3a, so its safe not to go there if you looking for some sort of Islamic environment.
