assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuh
thanks for the Hadith about jihad. Indeed, Jihad is something that is with us till the day of judgement. As is Hijrah and seeking knowledge and giving Da'wah. - Da'wah, Hijrah and Jihad are linked. Those who can understand this point, from the Qur'aan and Sunnah, will inshaAllaah also understand the true way forward.
However, we should be careful from whom we learn our Deen. Some people, may talk much about these issues, and perhaps even much of what they say is correct, but they slip in, their incorrect methodology and beliefs.
One of the moderators removed the links in your post as the websites contained incorrect ideas of takfir of Muslims and so forth... and that opens the door to much fitnah.
This website is not made for argumentation etc, but for educating people to the Islaam according to the Qur'aan and Sunnah with understanding of the pious early Muslims. The scholars of today, the Muhaditheen and Fuqaha' who are well known and loved by Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah are the ones who we take our Deen from.
Also some advice, and this is in general..
We should not like those ignorant emotional people, who incur the wrath of Allaah, by backbiting and slandering the Ulema' and making incorrect statements against them.
Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Baz (rahimahullah), Ibn Uthaimeen (Rahimahullah), Shaykh Albaani (rahimahullah) and other scholars, did so much for our Ummaah..
These Ulema' (rahimahumullah), taught Aqeedah, Tafsier, Fiqh, Usoel Fiqh, Mustalah Hadith, Usoel Tafsier, Qawa'id Fiqhiyyah, Arabic Language - Nahw. Classic books of Aqeedah by Ibn Taymiyyah, Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahaab, they went through the Six books of Hadith, ( for those that do not know thats all of hadith of Sahih Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, Nisaa'i, Ibn Maajah). They were an ocean of knowledge, each hadith they would give explanation from their memory, starting from the Isnaad, then explaining the text of the hadith, bringing the Ayaat from the qur'aan and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wa salam).. and the sayings of the Sahaba, the Tabi'een and Atba' Tabi'een, and the sayings of the Imaams of the past and present.
They went through Fiqh, like Zaad al Mustaqbi' which is classic book in Hanbali Fiqh (the shaykhs were not blind followers in some of the weak opinions, they would research and then tell the students where the particular author is incorrect, and they would tell the students of the strong position based on authentic proofs!).
Shaykh Ibn Baz Rahimahullah, after Fajr prayer, he would have lessons in the Masjid typically teaching several classical Islamic texts, one after the other till around 10 or 11 Oclock, for about four hours non-stop. THen, he would maybe take a small breakfast, then he would go to the Islamic endownments office.. Then he would deal with various Islamic issues of the day, and he would spend a portion of his time answering questions from all over the world that were addressed to the committee of scholars, he would also review the fatwa of other shaykhs. He would also find out about what is happening to the ummah and be uptodate with all current affairs. He was busy all day from Fajr till late after ishaa... doing so much for the Ummah, tirelessly.
This is how all our Ulema' were and still are.. and we have pathetic people running around talking about things without knowledge, and just blow hot air about jihad, when they are walking in the way of the khawarij, the dogs of the hellfire. So, who are people going to call a Shaykh!!
They will not do anything for this ummah, except worsen the situation of the Muslims. This is what is happening with all the car bombings, kidnappings, beheadings of innocent people and destruction that we see in places like Iraq, Pakistan, Chechnya, etc.
No, it is not some conspiracy, these things happen and exist. Ask those who survived the massacres of the GIA in Algeria, - who would enter villages and behead every person, man, woman and child.
the Title of this thread is "Jihad - forgotten obligation" - in reality, people have actually forgotten A LOT MORE then that!
Now, people so ignorant, they take their deen from Youtube, from various websites and other silly places where the ignorant emotional people flock.
The problem is that, a lot of people are not serious Tulaab al ilm at all. How many of these people have even memorised even a few hadith with isnaad? Or even know one juzz of Qur'aan... let alone knowing anything else.
Just reading books and listening a few talks of ignorant people whose only credentials are being engineers and spending a little bit of time in a prison and then who post their CV on the net as some sort of credentials, this does not make someone attain real knowledge.
Tulaab al ilm, have a complete lifestyle of memorising, Qur'aan , Hadith, and the classical texts, gaining true understanding by listening from the major Ulema'. Just as the Salaf did. By being humble.
The sad thing is, most brothers they spend their time talking much, doing little, and can not even wake up for fajr. Having a beard, pulling your trousers high or wearing a Thawb is not enough.
If people want a change, then they got to make the change starting from themselves, their families and those around them.
I see a sad sight whenever i am in the West, the same faces in the same places, since last 10 years. No progress, and now they have children, with not so much knowledge of Islaam and almost nothing about the dunya.
Just people say going university is fitnah, or making a career is a waste of time or fitnah, everything is now "fitnah", or is it just an excuse to be lazy? Neither they benefit themselves in the Deen, nor in the Dunya.
And a lot of the sisters are no better, in their jealousies and gheebah of other sisters.
Our deen is much more than outer appearance, of niqab and beard.
This is the situation and there is so much for us to be doing and people do not have their head screwed on right.
Firstly, people should have much sabr, patience and get their intentions correct, and learn the Deen in right manner, step by step, in the way that is clear from the Qur'aan and Sunnah. To take note of what the wise Ulema' taught. To have the right ahlaaq and adaab also, as this is what is needed.
Not just for us to do things like how we want, or how our family wants or how those around us behave and do. This is the bubble we must break out of, for true success and to be closer to Allaah Subhana wa ta'alaa and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wa salam) and to be in the middle, easy way just as the early Muslims.
InshaAllaah, we will have proper section for this, we will also deal with every topic to do with Jihaad.
