Laughter Lightens Loads

zainab bala

Allah is sufficient.
''And that it is He who makes (one) laugh and weep.''
(Qur'an 53:43)

Laughter they say is the best medicine. Laughing can be therapeutic, as it lightens the soul, here are some LAUGHTER NUGGETS.

1. Laughter has a strong influence on keeping the soul light and heart clear.
2. People who smile make their lives more joyful and are more productive.
3. A Muslim must always wear a happy cheerful face, not a subdued countenance. Islam is peace
and peace within should radiate happiness, not sadness.
4. Islam is not against laughter. Our noble Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) would laugh sometimes until
his molars became visible.
5. Islam does not tolerate rigidity and stern expression nor does it encourage giddy exuberance,
rather, it promotes seriousness when necessary and light heartedness when necessary.
6. Welcome your brother with a smile.
7. Laugh with people, not at people.
8. Learn the difference between laughter, smile, and grin. Laughter and smile are natural and more
desirable.
9. Wake up in the morning and smile to every member of your household. Do away with the tradition
of ''good morning'' with bland expressions.
10. See good in others and appreciate the beauty in nature.
11. Observe little children, how innocent they are, and how at peace they are. Enjoy their antics
and take a cue.

*A family of mice were surprised by a big cat.
Father Mouse jumped and said, "Bow-wow!" The cat ran away. "What was that, Father?" asked Baby Mouse. "Well, son, that's why it's important to learn a second language."

We must be careful too, as too much laughter also hardens the soul.
It is said that the Prophet SAW never laughed enough that you would see his back teeth (it would be more as a smile). But you can never smile too much :D.
