Which Campus brother, is it the archway campus (N19) or Main college (Gower street, Wc1)
As-salaamu `alaykum
Simply put, most Zone 1 and 2 areas cost a lot more than the outer zones.
To be honest, I personally think you're better off renting in a zone 3 constituency that has a tube station which stops near the university. Nearby stations include Euston Square, Warren Street and Euston, the latter two being on the Victoria line. Maybe you could look for accommodation in Tottenham. It'll be a bit further out, will take around 15 minutes to get to Uni, but is a lot cheaper than anywhere near UCL.
Nansen Village, I'm not sure if it's actually
Say if I were to rent in Nansen Village and travel daily to UCL, how much will I be able to save compared to renting a similar flat in zone 1 or zone 2.
Nansen Village (Woodsie Park, N12) is quite some distance from UCL (about 8 miles). Compare it with Mile End or Whitechapel area (E1), about 4 miles from your Uni. Woodside park is in zone 4 whereas Mile End/Whitechapel is zone 2, you can save traveling cost as well.
East London Mosque is about 2-3 min walk from Whitechapel underground, takes 20 mins by tube to UCL.

Is the cost of food, laundry, etc similar between zone 1 and zone 2-6 ?
Yes

If your planning to study in UCL then i guess some where like Camden, Islington (Holloway/ Archway) would be your best bet for living.
Also there is a new Mosque in the area (near camden) with excellent brothers running the mosque and there are plenty of people you who can study with in the mosque who have Ijazaaz's, if i am not mistaken one even has a PHD from Madina University. I disagree with bro Kashmir because many of the 'Alims are not well known via youtube or facebook but there are plenty of 'Alims these days but they rearley have the time to spend teaching individuals.
