Mawlid an-Nabi Celebrating the Prophet's Birthday -

:salam2: dear brothers and sisters,

For those who don't like to watch videos, here are the main points:

* When the Prophet ( PBUH) went to Medina, he found people celebrating an old feast of theirs, but he said moslems should only celebrate the 2 Eids: Al Fitr and Al Adha

* According to concensus, the Prophet was born on the 9th - not the 12th- of Rabi'e Awal. He rather died on the 12th, so we're just celebrating his death.

* None of the Companions- who definitely loved the Prophet more than we did- celebrated his birthday( PBUH)

* The Prophet never celebrated the birthday of any of the other prophets, neither did he celebrate his own birthday, so this celebration is just an innovation, it's as if you're claiming that you know better than the Prophet.

* People celebrate the Prophet's birthday according to a fabricated hadith that whoever celebrates the Prohet's birthday will have his sins erased. This is just an imitation of Christians celebrating Chritmas.

Therefore celebration of the Prophet's birthday(PBUH) is an innovation.

Hope it helps inshaAllah.:hearts:
