Non-alcoholic beer in Islamic countries

Islam prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages,[21] Although the Hanafi school of Islam, which accounts for around 40% of Muslims, does not prohibit ethanol, but intoxication, based on a different interpretation of the operative word, khamr, although the other three schools prohibit both ethanol and intoxication. One of the two great scholars of the Hanafi school, Abu Yusuf, drank a mildly alcoholic malt beverage, which was at the time used to provide energy.[22] However, there is disagreement among scholars of Islam about the consumption of non-alcoholic beer.[23]
Possibly because of this disagreement, alcohol-free (0% ABV) beers, (e.g. Holsten, Barbican and Moussy) are often available in stores and restaurants that cater to an Islamic customer base. They are also popular in countries that enforce alcohol prohibition, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran. They are often available with added flavors (apple, strawberry, and peach).
In addition, foreign-made alcohol-free beers (0% ABV) (e.g. Holsten, Barbican and Moussy) are also common alongside the previously mentioned brands.

Non-Alcoholic beer :p

:salam2:

Beer is an alcoholic drink, is the worlds opinion. So why still call this non-alcoholic stuff beer? Why the prefix non-alcoholic ? why not call it seer :p !!

My thought: food should be halaal. If its not halaal, its haraam. And if its not halaal its not food...

Wonder whats motive behind naming something "non-alcoholic beer"?
Does it mean, it tastes beer, you feel a bit dizzy, but does not contain alcohol?
Or did the beer drinkers certify it has same effect as alcoholic beer, but surprising enough it does not contain alcohol..... Or well does it make one give same satisfaction to mind, when the word beer is used!!!!

Yes we have heard about it. And its quite a favorite in Gulf countries stores... right?
[And, for the govrmnts out there, how could they let something be sold as "permissible beer"]
