Beautiful :ma: That couscous looks good

You know sister that question is always in my mind especially when I look at the mountains and ocean and think how Allah is great subhanaAllah he created everything with perfection I too don't understand how some people are so blind to think that there is no God

Mashallah the pictures are BEAUTIFUL...and you're right in everything you said..when I was in a plane about 6 months ago and it took off..a chill was going up and down my spine as I looked out the window..I was seriously saying *Sobhanallah* over and over again unconsciously because I was so amazed..

Sometimes we just forget about the significant beauty of creation and need moments like that to remember it..I'll keep coming back to check out the other pics sister ;)

P.S. Are you in love with Moroccan food???..confess to it!..you HAVE to!..lol..I tasted it for the first time ever..in a restaurant in Indonesia (can you say diverse?! lol)..and I've been obsessing about it to this day!..ESPECIALLY the fluffy Moroccan bread they served and a soup called Hareera? (hopefully I said it right)...it's just such a yummy cuisine..mashallah!..

I have to confess that before I reverted back to Islam I would be a bit nervous on take off and landing in an airplane but I even surprised myself this time in those huge planes I had not one ounce of fear knowing that I had just taken my shahada in Morocco. Even on the way there I wasnt afraid at all because I trusted in Allah that he would protect me so I could take my shahada. He knew what was truely in my heart the whole time.

The most amazing thing I saw while in the air was the layers of clouds as we approached Chicago. It was truely a work of Allah at its best. I remembered reading in the Quran (sorry not sure which surah) about how Allah created the heavens in layers. I actually saw some of the layers I think and I was totally in awe and wonder at his magnificence. Before Islam I dont think I ever looked at anything the way I look at everything now. Does that make any sense??? :shymuslima1:

LOL sis is it too obvious that I am already missing the food???? But I do have to confess that if I lived in Morocco on a permanent basis it would be sooooooo hard to stay on a diet and I would definately need a diet with all that delicious food!!!!

The one thing I thought was interesting and unique is that they eat the big meal early in the afternoon and call it dinner. We here in the States usually eat our dinner between 5-7 pm. They eat a light meal in the evening. Tea is served many times in a day and when I first got there I was surprised at how often they ate even if it was just the tea with bread. We dont usually eat that way here in the States. In fact most people that I know dont even eat the recommended 3 meals a day. I ate ALOT in Morocco!!!! LOL

What you said makes total sense sister...though I'm not a revert like you..but I was blind for years..and Allah (swt) blessed me and awakened *the sight* of *my spirit*..and when your spirit awakens..you see a world within another..*sigh*..it's an indescribable feeling..and to tell you the truth..I was so moved by the image of the clouds and the sun..and even the ground peeking through..and the fact that the plane was flying so high and everyone is so protected in that metal thing..everyone might think of all the engineering and science behind it..but I was thinking of something way beyond that..you must know what I mean ;)..and I actually cried..and freaked out the lady sitting next to me..lol..the poor lady kept asking me if I was alright..she was SO worried about me!..and all I could do to get her to calm down is nod in agreement to her question..it was embarrassing but I couldn't stop myself :shymuslima1:

And I totally relate to the change in eating routines a U.S. resident has to go through when overseas..it's was weird to me because I thought I was safe from the shock as we have our mini-Iraqi culture at home..but when I traveled I was proven WRONG..because along the years I guess..our household has Americanized its habits as well..so I was a bit overwhelmed in the initial days of my vacation..and upon returning to the U.S. *of course* I *had* to renew my membership at the gym (and Thank Allah for letting me live in a city that has an all-women's one! lol)..because I indulged in the various cuisine a bit too much and I suffered when I *unpacked* my new clothes..lol..it's all part of the fun though..and alhamduliallah for it..it is a blessing that we got to see another part of the world that even though we may be familiar with..we found to be so *new!*..and I am sure this experience will last you a life-time..and you *will* miss Morocco a lot..just like I miss Indonesia now! :(

I have to admit sister that I did cry too. I understand EXACTLY what you are saying about everyone being protected in that metal thing (airplane) and all I kept thinking the entire time was that Allah was holding us up in the palm of his hand. I seemed to be reassured by that thought. It warmed my heart but really I felt completely at ease. I actually cried so hard the entire way from Morocco to Amsterdam and it was very embarrassing. It was so bad that when the plane landed in Amsterdam and everyone was getting off the stewardess pulled me aside and asked me if I was ok which of course just caused more tears. LOL

I agree sister and not only will I always remember this trip to Morocco I am already planning another one for next year Inshallah. It would be so nice to go back again.

Salam sister.......this is too funny for me because when I was there a woman visitor came to the house and I was complaining about how the people I was staying with kept force feeding me like every 2 hours or something. I felt like a real newborn baby not just newborn in Islam (which of course I am). The visitor told me that in Morocco if someone visits and doesnt leave fatter than they came its an insult to the family they stayed with. That is too funny you basically said the same. Well they didnt have anything to worry about because Im sure I gained at least 20 pounds in the 3 weeks I was there LOL
