:salam2:
i usually get sundays and mondays off from work. it's kind of nice having 2 days off and all, but i never really enjoy my time off. very often i get disturbed or called by job to come in for emergency help, but today i was mostly alone by myself and i had a great time doing what i was doing. the most fun in months. what was i doing? i was memorizing surahs from the qur'an. i learned six today, i couldn't stop. i didn't think about tv or hanging out with friends or the internet or any troubles in the world.
i've always been amazed by the qur'an, but as i was reading it i envisioned what it must of been like for the prophet muhammad
when these words were revealed to him. hearing myself recite the words in arabic, i said to myself: wow, these arabic words were the same words spoken in the revelation. i just began to wonder what the angel sounded like and i was just facinated by the thought. shaykh abdul-rahman sudais of masjid al-haram is my favorite recitor, but i could only imagine how much more beautiful jibril's recitation must have been. i just wanted to share this with you guys.
