As Salamu Alaykum,

When asked what was the most important commandment, Yeshua (Jesus)(PBUH) answered;
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
When Moshe (PBUH)delivered laws to The Jews the most important to this day is
Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deu 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Deu 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
The Tanakh (Hebrew Old Testament also says:
Lev 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Consequently, it is obvious from these verses of the Bible, that the message of Allah did not change nor did Yeshua (PBUH) teach contrary to Torah (The books delivered by Moshe (Moses PBUH). Although The Message of Allah did not change, unfortunately, the message taught by The People of The Book did.
My heart's desire since coming to believe in The Existence of God has been to truly know The Will of Allah and to live in accordance with His Will.
James (The brother of Yeshua) wrote:
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
So, I began to read Al Quran. Since the word Islam means submission to Allah, I thought "what better concept could exist in a religion than submission to God and His Will and Messengers."
Much of the teachings of The Bible are disputed because of the translations, interpretations, and translations from translation and re-interpretations of interpretations. This is not the case with Al Quran because a translation of Al Quran is not view as Al Quran.
Peter wrote
2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
I still have a long path before, Insha Allah, I understand Islam. However, I am able to extrapoloate what I have learned as a "Christian Pastor" to Islam. But, I understand that it must be supported by AL QURAN.
To summarize my experience and journey to Islam and rejection of the false teachings of Christianity: It has been my experience that anyone who wishes to strip away that from Christianity which is false such as the doctrine of the Trinity, the false teaching that Yeshua (PBUH) taught contrary to Moshe (PBUH), and that Allah has changed with the times will be shunned, mocked, or excommunicated. Even those Sects within "Christianity" which try to return to the unadulterated teachings of Yeshua ( PBUH) continue to teach lies like the Trinity.
Mal 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Mal 3:7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Mal 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
So, that is my story. I love Allah with my whole heart, mind, and soul and wish to be acceptable to Him. Alhamdulillah.
