Hi, my name is Laurie. I live in Florida in the USA. I've been brought up a Christian all my life and a while back I met and fell in love with a man who is a Muslim. I've been reading and studying Islam a lot and am definitely leaning toward converting. My problem is that my fiance lives in Saudi Arabia right now, and I don't know any Muslim sisters here where I live. There's so much I desire to know about, such as the proper way to pray. What is the mandatory dress, I hear both, you must cover your head and some say it's not compulsory. What about women going to the Mosque to pray, do they? And where do they do the ablutions? I've read some of the forum responses and I am so thankful that GOD guided me to this site. Everyone here seems like such lovely people. I hope to make some good and lasting friendships.

As-salamu Alaykum wa-Rahmatullahi wa-Barakatuhu,

Welcome to TTI. Let me say congratulations on your engagement and I am sure that we all wish you the very best.
Sister, let me also say, that it is important in your seeking to understand and learn about Islam, that you consider your reasons for considering becoming a Muslim. It is very important, and I am sure that you will hear this again, that you do it for yourself, not for someone else.
That being said, I hope to be able to welcome you to Islam someday, as my sister KSA_lover, has said.
