Obama promises new start with Muslims

I must say it was a very good speech. He is very skillful at 'touching' out to diverse groups of people. Well, all these sweet talk and pretty words will remain as such unless he actually does something.
I highly doubt he will do anything, although he will not (Insha'Allah) be as ruthless as Bush was.
The best part of the speech was when he said
"To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history,"
Perhaps some Muslim can take heed from a kaffair since they are so used to listening to Kaffir leaders.

I do not have any hope and will not hope Obama will do anything positively for muslim. This is because I do not want to be disappointed again. Muslim ummah must unite and help themselves first. I hope Saudi which very rich and have a lot of influence will play a lead role for this, insyAllah.

I really hope saudia doesnt play a lead at all If Islamic nations were to unite.
believe me I lived there and my mom hated it (living there).
Anyways I hope he will keep his word and change Americas image. I have hopes for him. May Allah Guide him (Inshallah)
he cant call for a "fresh" start after killing atleast 1.5 Million muslims. Its like me killing a whole family then going in front of a judge and telling them to give me a fresh start. lol rediculous. we cant forget nor forgive the kuffar for what they have done. and the very least you have to understand they are kaffir and they will always be at war with muslims because their religion and way of life is threatened by Islam. so we should always be a sceptic of what they say because people can say what ever they want openly but what happens under the table is very different.

This is true, but on the flip side what happens under the table is very scary, especially dealing with the kaafirs.

please explain how is that Ignoring your deen. Islam has always taught me to treat others fairly even if they treat you horrible. and just like during the era of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahi alahi wa salaam was perscuted by his own family and neighbors.....once they reverted to Islam it was like a "fresh start" all over again. Now I am very skeptical of Prez Obama however, I do feel that some ppl heard that speech who are not muslim and probably hated muslims but because they love Prez Obama so much that are now willing to consider treating Muslims or Islam better. Just how 9/11 put Islam on the map (made it a topic)....so will small issues such as Obama'a speech.
Why can't we just accept small acts like Obama's speech and 9/11 to be the will of Allah subhana wa tala.

you may already know that politicians call lies, rhetoric.
basically, he says information such as this and then turns to his insiders and winks how was I, i was just mocking, you know where my heart is set for.
Perhaps this is a little to harsh and a little to early to state. But it is happening all the time and over and over again.
We would be better off strengthening our Aqeeda, and trying to learn this deen better. We need to focus on untiy of muslims and the only way that can happen, if we ourselves become better muslims.
I feel the state of the Umma is the direct result of the lack of beneficial knowledge. The knowledge that will make high places of jenna possible for us.
