Gram flour (Besan)
Salt
Chili Powder
Cumin Powder
Water
Mix everything to make a thick paste of thick consistency.
Slice onions, dip in batter and deep fry till golden brown.
You can also use sliced potatoes, chopped up cauliflower, sliced eggplant, spinach leaves, etc etc etc to make these fritters. Personally I like a combination of chopped onions and potatoes in the batter. You can put it in the oil using a spoon, but we just use our fingers to do it
Oh.. I don't know about the quantity as I never measure, but sister is an awesome cook, so she'll manage.
Eat with ketchup or chutney (blend green chilies, coriandar, salt, cumin seeds, tiny bit of water)
