At best he was a rich Arab who used his wealth to help the mujahideen in the way of Allah or at worst he is a US creation to justify their invasion of muslim land or a move to vulgarise the holy obligation of Jihad fi Sabeelillah. And the whole Islam trial and Islamophobia that has taken a surge recently is but a move to put Islam back on a defensive stance, while they continue to pillage or assist in the invasion of the muslim lands of Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and North Africa.
And then I'll have to also be wary of 100s of new school Islamic 'scholars' that preach moderate Islam that strictly or otherwise forbids participation in Jihad fi Sabeelillah. They might actually be funded by the US too.
May Allah show us and ease our paths towards the truth, brothers and sisters.
