Playing with Dice

zainab bala

Allah is sufficient.
Many popular games involve elements that are haraam; among them are games in which pieces are moved according to the throw of a dice, such as backgammon, etc. The Prophet (s.a.w) warned that these dice open the door to gambling: ''Whoever plays with dice, it is as if he dipped his finger in the flesh and blood of swine. Reported by Muslim, 4/1770.
Abu Musa (r.a) reported that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: ''Whoever plays with dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.'' Reported by Imam Ahmad, 4/394.

When we were small children we played with dice all the time because we did not know the it was haram nor our parents.
Thank you for informing us. May Allah SWT rewards you.

In his last sermon after his last Hajj our Prophet Sallallahu Alihi wa Sallam said

"Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things."

It seems to me that our Prophet Sallallahu Alihi wa Sallam was referring to the small thing sister Zainab Bala is cautioning us.
