ONE LIKE THE PROPHETS
Allah, give me one like the prophets
Make him tall and strong like Musaa
Able to fight for what is right and never give up
Make him steadfast like Ibraheem
Who chose only You as a friend
And You called him KhalilAllah
Make him repentant as Yunus
Running away but quickly running back
I want his voice to be as beautiful as Daud
The birds, mountains, all of creation would tremble to hear him talk
Make his voice resonant and captivating as he recites the Qur’aan
The only path to my heart
Give him the intelligence and riches of Suleimaan
Incomparable to anyone
Striving only in Your cause
With patience and gratitude
Grant him purity of judgment like Luqman
A benevolent father to his sons
Like Isaa, let him be a healer
With his hands and heart, be able to cure
Let him fill my sight with Yusuf’s beauty
So handsome, that I can barely breathe
And most of all, let him be like Your favorite
Muhammad (saw) to whom there is no comparison for Your love
Let him have our last Rasool’s character
Kind, honest, humble, ever-loving, ever-worshipping You
Fill his heart and soul with noor, Allah
Keep him close to You
Give me one like the prophets, Allah
My libaas, half my deen
Purer, more radiant than me
Make me worthy of such a blessing
So that “SubhanAllah” exits my lips
Always bringing me back to You
