hey brother Shaheer, how are you?

i think that it means missing one's calling. people say " your so funny, you missed your calling. " meaning i should've been a comedian instead of a retail manager. i think that's what it means.

I have some very interesting notes, from an Almaghrib lecture, which I'll share Insha Allah. Right now, I am very tired and going to sleep. Qadr and Qadha are very important topics for any muslim. But if he finds it difficult to understand, then its better to leave the matter. Wallahu alaam. Get back to you soon, akhi, Insha Allah.

i think words like missing qadr, luck opened, fate is closed are improper. Allah has written our qadr and it happens whts in our qadr. so if someone become rich or miss admission in college, it was written in qadr by Allah.

also ppl make mistake when they say...i got so-so frm Allah and qadr. bcoz Allah only wrote qadr, qadr has no power. Allah has control over all things.

JazakALlah khair for replying

so than someone explain me how do you explain the decree, and you need to work hard for achive something how does that go along with the decree

Simple. You don't know the decree, therefore you cannot make assumptions about the result of your efforts! You may work hard for a goal and it is never achieved and you may succeed at a goal at first attempt. But, and this is the key, if you do not work at all for a goal, it is most likely not going to be achieved ;) As Umar ibn Al-Khattaab, may God have been pleased with him, said to the man who was praying for wealth but had no job, "The sky does not rain gold or silver!"

JazakAllah khair brother

But i heard this many times people try hard for something and then give up and say its the decree of Allah (swt) is that correct?

or should we keep on trying till we get that thing?

suppose i am sitting in the car. to reach home i have to drive it towards home. i cant say "if its in my qadr, i'll reach home...so no need to drive:D".

Allah Has made cause and effect principle. and He is the Creator of cause and effect. like He made fire to burn but He can make it ineffective also eg. in case of Ibrahim (as). so we have to keep on working but our actions too are creation of Allah.

confusing you? :) sorry:D
akhi, keep doing good deeds and work and dont think too much over qadr.

i dunno if you are talking about what is generally reffered to as muqaddar here.:shymuslima1:
if it's that then.here is what i heard how hazrat ALI(R.A)answered what's muqader?qadr?if these are the same things.:hijabi:

a man asked hazrat ali(R.A)what's muqaddar.

he said:"raise one of your feet above the ground".the man did.
then hazrat ali(R.A) said:"now raise the other foot without keeping the first on the ground."
the man answered it was impossible.
on this hazrat ali(R.A) said:"this is your muqadar."

in short somthing that we are totally helpless to do is our mauqadar.:hijabi:

There is an American detergent called "Formula 409." It is so called because its inventor tried 408 times to get it right and failed. Attempt number 409 succeeded! We do not know, and never will, if or when our effort will be successful and therefore we must constantly try. Just make sure what you're trying for is not against Islamic teachings.

thomas alva edison is also a great example for this
