Question about visiting the Doctor

As salamo alaikome....

I hope all my brothers and sisters are well and the fasting is going good.

I have a question.........yesterday I got caught in the rain and it seems everytime that happens I wind up getting sick. Today I woke up feeling as if I am getting an ear infection. I tried to ignore it and go to work but one hour and a half later I had to leave my job because I felt so sick. So now I am home but my family wants me to go to the hospital to have my ear checked.

I have just started wearing hijab and want to wear it to the hospital but obviously I will need to remove it in order for the Doctor to check my ears. My question is should I request a female Doctor? What if there are no female Doctors available? Is it haram for a male Doctor to check my ears without hijab? I dont want to do anything wrong.

I am still fasting too if that makes a difference. I didnt want to break my fast for this reason.

Men treating women
What is the ruling on a male doctor treating a Muslim woman?

Praise be to Allaah.
The basic principle is that if a female specialist doctor is available, she should examine the patient. If no such doctor is available, then a trustworthy non-Muslim female doctor can do it. If this is not possible, then a male Muslim doctor, and if a male Muslim doctor is not available, then a non-Muslim male doctor, on the condition that he looks only at as much of the woman’s body as is necessary for him to diagnose and treat the problem, and he should lower his gaze as much as possible, and not look any more than is necessary. The doctor should administer this medical treatment to the woman in the presence of her mahram or husband or another woman, so as to avoid khulwah (being alone with him). And Allaah knows best.
