I have recently started to wear hijab. I am going through this process step by step by wearing hijab just during my school day. I don't want to overwhelm myself or feel I am pushing myself too hard So I thought that doing this step first and eventually wearing hijab for longer would be a great start. What are your opinions on this?

I have been choosing hijabs style that look very pleasing to me, like designed/patterned scarves and different colors. I see many hijabis do this but also wear hijab that is very thin and I can see their neck. I don't agree with this fashion, but is it acceptable? Is my style of hijab okay to wear with the designs and patterns that i think are pretty?

I have been told before that Muslimah are supposed to wear plain black hijab style. Another person told me to just wear plain hijab and thick to cover everything. My fiance hates this style that people are saying I should do. If these people are right, is it still okay for me to wear beautiful hijab style for my soon to be husband when I am at public with him?
Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance!
