Questions about on Islam Q & A

I had turned in a question at Islam-qa.com as I was seeking information on one particular matter in detail. It has been like more than 15 days and it hasnt been answered yet.

Does anyone have any previous experience in asking questions there. Approx how long do they take to answer the questions ? And do they select and pick questions to answer instead of answering all (due to time constraints ofcourse) of them ?

Praise be to Allah (The Glorified and Exalted).

It is the most likely case that you will never receive an answer to your question from that site because they continuously shuffle old questions, take questions and answers from other sources such as books, fatwas from old scholars, etc. The website is very old now, they do not answer much of what is submitted, if any. You can try searching for a similar question on their site in hopes of getting your answer because they have pretty much answered every question there is. Perhaps it is better if you provide your question here, in this thread.

Jazakallah Icadams and mig1 for your replies. It's not a matter of urgency. I just needed some detailed explanation on one specific topic in order to gain more knowledge on it.

Insha'Allah I will try to get it from somewhere else and if that doesnt happen, I will post it up here .

They answer after 15 days up to one month, I guess.
That's what happened to my question.

There are a couple of places you can refer to, if you are unsuccessful on IslamQA.

Fatawa Islamiyah (8 Vol) (Should be able to get it from a good bookstore, it covers a lot of essential topics. An excellent investment for life.)

I submitted a question once and it took a bit over a month for me to get an answer..it's important to remember that fatwa sites receive material from *around the globe*..so of course the process of replying will be lengthy

I always wondered as to how to submit a question to Islam Q&A. I mean I went to where it says to submit a question but then all they asked me for was my email and a friend's email....there was no place to type in the question. There were also timings for when the shuyookh were available but nothing happened even then. So how exactly do you submit a question to them?

As you mentioned, they accept questions only at certain times of the day. So get on their website at that prescribed time. Then you will need to fill the form first about personal details and Click next. Sometimes you have to fill it twice (something wrong with the site I guess) and then another form will come up where you can type in the questions and click next and then finish..

They would then give you a reference number by which you can check if they answered your question or not. And they are also supposed to email you on the email you have provided them once they answer your question.

I've been on that website during those prescribed times but no forms ever came up. Where exactly are you supposed to go?

You click on 'Send A question' on the left, sister. Right now its 9 am in Makkah. If you check after 4 hours, it should have opened up Insha'Allah for questions.
