Translation of Marmaduke Pickthall and Abdullah Yusuf Ali, these are classical english translation.
you can refer to Dr. Hilali and Muhammad Muhsin Khan translation, this is one of the easiest and simple translation.

All of the three, you can find in internet as soft copy or if you just type order a Quran translation, you can easily have some link to order online and it is not that expensive even.

but i'll suggest you to have the Yusuf Ali translation, because it has a very good index system (you can find by letters and word), that will help you, and also it contains short but good footnotes with explanation also quoting from old and new testaments.

if you are not yet muslim, you can even have copies of Quran for free, they will deliver it to your door end, without any charge.

try this one: http://www.freequran.com/html/reg.htm or this one: http://www.allahsquran.com/free/

wassalam

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.

Question: Why can you get the Quran for free only if you're a non-Muslim?

Any muslim, is willing to give a fellow human a copy of Quran for free. No distinction muslim or non-muslim.

you could also try online version http://quran.com. Some features are
  • Navigation Tip: Lets say you want the translation of chapter 5, Aya 2 ie [5:2] then the url is http://quran.com/5/2
  • Translations - Most popular english translations, other major world languages
  • Transliteration - Arabic Transliteration
  • Audio recitation -

Note: While reading the translated Quran is indeed a good thing. I would like to point out, that knowledge of context of the Ayath, Sura is needed to understand correctly
