As Salamo Alaikome....
My wonderful experience in my Moroccan journey continued when I visited Rabat a few days ago. We took a taxi to the train station and then on to Rabat by train (believe it or not this was just my second time on a train in my whole life)!!!!! The city itself reminded me so much of something out of a fairy tale. The scenery was breathtaking and everywhere I looked there was something new to see. First we visited the site where the king and his 2 sons were entombed. That place (Im sorry I cant remember the name of it) surprised me when I saw the guards all around. I actually took pictures standing beside a few of the guards and even one was on horseback. When we were there we witnessed a couple being married just outside of the house where the tombs where. I thought this was a bit morbid to be married where someone is actually buried but they didnt seem to care and really the site was beautiful so thats probably all they were thinking about for their wedding.
After we left there we stopped to get something to eat then we walked to this place where we saw some fishermen getting ready to go out on their boats and I took some pictures of them. As we walked further we came to this place that looked like a real castle out of an old knights tale complete with cannons sticking out of the windows. As we entered the castle it had a path that went up into what appeared to be a small village and people actually lived in it. We followed the cobblestone streets up to an opening and ended up at the top of the castle which overlooked the beach below. It was a breathtaking sight to see. We stood on top for a long time watching the people below us swimming and boats (even a sailboat in the distance). I never wanted to leave but of course we had to go as the sun was setting in the sky. We took the train back and by the time I got home again I was so tired but really I feel so blessed to be lucky enough to witness Allahs creation in all of its wonderous beauty!!!!
This trip for me has been amazing and I am so happy I trusted in Allah to come here. I think the end of this week or the beginning of next week I will formally take my shahada but really its just a formal way of letting others know what I already feel..........I am a muslim alhamdulillah!!!!
