you will get to know soon Inshallah after the citing of the moon. sometimes islamic calendar has 29 days in a month and sometimes 30 days. so we have to wait till we see the moon.

Only Allah knows the future you just have to be patient and wait for the moon to be cited or sited

Salam take a look at Islamicfinder.org you can find the exact times to start fasting and then to break your fast. I reccomend eating really healthy (which we should do anyway during Ramadan) Foods like oatmeal (not the instant stuff), yogart, and anything with lots of protein and whole wheat, in order to keep energy in your body for the whole day inshAllah. My first ramadan was really enjoyable, I pray yours will be too :)
wa salam

Dear sister Ameera, I'm very happy for you. Alhamdulillah He guides you to Islam and makes you experience Ramadan.

It's really a great month. I myself consider it a feast of 30 days though the feast comes after it. It will be a wonderful experience to you inshaa Allah. It is recommended to read the Holy Qur'an as much as you can in Ramadan. I'm sure you will enjoy very high spiritual feelings that bring you closer to Allah.

We are all your sisters and brothers here, so feel free to ask anything. It honours me to be your friend as well as your sister in Islam..

May Allah accept your and our fasting, prayers and every righteous deed inshaa Allah.

Your sister, Amany

Many thanks to all who answered me I feel better already :) my family don't drink alcohol at all and I am not feeling so alone now, I downloaded islamic.org athan finder when I became Muslim in April but its times don't match that of my Masjid I know Ramadan starts around the 13th Sept I will keep looking for hints along the way, some ppl gave me advice which conflicts with what you say so I am going to go with what's been said here Inshallah its the right way, I have never fasted before but I am looking forward to ramadan, even if I don't have a feast to attend at the end, thank you again for your help

Inshallah you will have no problem fasting this beautiful and blessed month. Usually Ramadan starts at the sighting of the new moon, so just wait and see inshallah. Just knowing that many muslims all over the world are fasting with me, makes me feel like we are all joined together during this month, but we should continue after also. May you have a great Ramadan, and if you have any questions, just ask.
