:salam2:
Although I am always eager to spread Islam and to do Da'wa, I find myself hesitant at handing our Holy Quran to my fellow Christians; fearing they will not treat it with the proper amount of care we Muslims do.
At one incident, there was this Christian co-worker who used to take his bible to read while sitting on the toilet... sort of like when guys take a magazine to read for entertainment while on the toilet. Then I pointed out the controversy regarding his action with his own bible, and he was surprised at my comments but ultimately made sense to him.. Then months later he asked me for a copy of the Quran and I gave him one, but I made it clear that he'd have to treat it with care. He laughed and said that he would not take it in the bathroom.
Then today, I gave another collegue a copy of the Quran. In the beginning he refused to take it claiming that he'd feel bad because he may not read it... I said he didn't have to read it if he didn't want to.. He said why don't you give it to someone that wants to convert? I asserted that he takes it that he may want to consult it at some unknown future point. Then he ended up taking it... He flipped through it for a minute and put it in his drawer and said; he can't even remember where his bible is... I doubt he'll even touch it again until he has to evacuate the office if he ever moves out.....
My question is; am I doing the right thing by handing free Qurans to Christians knowing that they don't appreciate their own book??? They don't even read their own book, why am I expecting them to read my Quran or take care of it at least????
I'm having second thought about doing this in the future..... Allah A'alam.
I ask Allah to guide them to Islam; the straight path. Ameen.
