Saying Salam to non-muslims

:salam2: brothers and sisters

I have experienced some muslims disliking saying :salam2: to the non-muslims. This is not a positive attitude of muslims towards the non-muslims.
Because most of the time the non-muslims feel enthusiastic about saying salam to the muslims but some muslims dont like to answer them back.
In the Holy Quran Surah No.19 Verse 47 explains how Prophet Abrahim (A S)
said Salam to his non-muslim father. So why cant we say Salam to the non-muslims.
Furthermore, its only when you doubt that the non-muslim has malicious intention and he is saying Asamo Alaikum that you can reply Walaikum. ut most of the cases its not like that. Non-muslims learn from our behaviour so we should show them good conduct.

May i correct you dear muslim. i know that Muslim's should show a postive attitude but asalamu alaykum is only to be said to MUSLIMS. it's the greeting BETWEEN MUSLIMS. and as you know it means, peace be with you. we can say to them PEACE(salam) but not PEACE BE WITH YOU.

Assalam aliekum

When I first came to Kuwait, the Muslim groups here in Kuwait that help westerners fit-in taught all of us to greet people with "Assalam Aliekum" and to respond "Aliekum assalam" when we were greeted. It was never mentioned that it was only for greeting Muslims, or that "well, if you say it, the Muslims won't respond in kind".

Besides, if Muslims truly believe that everyone was born a Muslim, then shouldn't we be greeting everyone with God's peace? Just because a person may be misguided or on a different level of Islamic education doesn't mean we can judge them. Also, you may not always know if a person is Muslim or not - so if you do not greet them with God's blessing, whose fault is that?

Personally, I try to remember to greet as many people as possible with Assalam Aliekum.
