something to think about

i once heard a lecture given by a famous shaykh, named Feiz Muhammad. to this day it has been the most powerful message that i have ever heard as a muslim. he mentioned a hadith that said “ whosoever dies upon something, that person will be resurrected on the day of judgement the way he died. “ think about that. that was an authentic hadith that he mentioned.

if you are a sincere muslim you would love to die in these ways:

die while making tawaf around the Kaaba.
die while performing umrah during ramadan.
die making salah.
die reciting the quran.
die while saying LAA ILLAHA ILLA LAA.

but what if you aren’t so sincere or an unbeliever altogether? think about that.

can you imagine.....

dying while smoking crack?
dying during ramadan and you’re not fasting?
dying while committing zinaa?
dying while being at a rap concert?
dying while shaving?
dying with having tons of money and failing to give zakat?
dying while bringing tons of money to haram vacation sites and not ever investing to make hajj?
dying while signing a contract with ribaa?
dying while partying instead of praying isha or tahajjud?

just thinking about those things frighten me. it should not only frighten me, but it should frighten all of us. what’s even scarier is that people are dying in those situations. think about that. we need to, every time we commit sin. how can we face Allah SWT while doing these things? how shameful, how sad. may this blog serve as a reminder to me as well to everyone else. jazakAllah khayr for reading.

yes i know what you mean and May Allah let us die a humble death! Ameeen...
I was listening to a lecture by muhammad Alshareef the other day and he was talking about several deaths a friend traffic police he knows. one of them there was two youths in a car crash in riyadh who were singing a song they were previously listening on the car at there death bed. everytime the patrol officer told them "qul ashadu alla illaha illa Allah" they would start singing. another boy who was actually hit by a car was reciting quran while dying and he he said the shahada right before he died without the help of the patrol officer this was also in riyadh

Good point. Sometimes we might think about our day overall because tomorrow might not come... but we forget the next minute might not come.

thanks for all of your replies. i must say that as a muslim i have progressed much in my faith. i remember when i was one that wouldn't wear a beard. but today i couldn't see my life without one. i remember sitting hours wasting time on video games, trying to come up with a strategy to win. today i spend time coming up with the best plan to memorize the quran. i would take long drives and go to bars and nite clubs, today i drive far just to prayer zuhr or asr in a masjid. i remember be so addicted to download the latest beyonce video or justin timberlake song to my iPod, today my iPod is filled with islamic videos, lectures, and of course the quran. instead of watching tv i'm searching the internet to learn more about my deen at sites like this one and on my own website as well. no one will ever benefit from downloading beyonce's videos, but there is benefit in reading quran, going to masjid etc. many people dont realize how much of their lives they're wasting. i look forward to reading quran. i look forward to hearing lectures about Muhammad :saw: etc. that's why it's so troubling to see so many muslims falling into the haram things in this dunya. Allah SWT has provided us with alternatives to those haram things and the most important thing about that is that there are rewards in them.
