I have not converted to Islam, (yet but I feel it's a matter of time).

I have 2 tattoo's nothing bad, but I do understand that they are haram. Would it be a greater mutilation of the flesh to have them removed?

Thoughts?

Hey......... you know whts really great about islam???

Anything you did before is wiped out when you convert and you get a shiny sparkly clean new slate!!

So you can keep your tatoos (if you want to)!! The imam or our local mosque has tatoos from his pre muslim days......

That ok for ya???

it's just like the sister said, islam upon conversion wipes away all of your past sins. so don't be concerned about that. one thing i always worried about was going on hajj and people seeing my tattoos. then i realized that 2 million people are going to be there, why would anyone focus on me? so my fear of going to hajj is gone.

Thank you I normally am very good about using search functions,

I should have realized that I would have been the 1st to get some ink done and then think about the broader repercussions
