from Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab's

The superiority of Tawheed & what it removes of sins

Allah the Most Exalted said: {It is those who believe (in the Oneness

of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief

with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping other besides Allah), for them

(only) there is security and they are guided ones.} (6:82)

Narrated Ubadah bin As-Samit (May Allah be pleased with him),

that Allah's Messenger

(May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"Whoever testifies that there is nothing worthy of worship in truth

(no God) except Allah Alone, Who is without (peer or) partner,

and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and that 'Iesa

(Jesus) is the slave of Allah, His Messenger, and His Word which

He bestowed in Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (created) from Him,

and that Paradise & Hell-fire are realities, Allah will admit him into

Paradise, whatever his deeds might be."

(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3252) 'Itban

(May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet

(May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"Indeed Allah has forbidden for Hell the person who testifies:

'There is nothing worthy of worship in truth but Allah',

seeking thereby nothing but Allah's Face (pleasure)."

(Al-Bukhari, Muslim). Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri

(May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Allah's

Messenger (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"Musa (Moses) (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)

said: 'O my Rabb, teach me something through which I can

remember You and supplicate to You.' Allah answered:

'Say, O Musa, La ilaha ilIa-Allah'.

Musa said: 'O my Rabb, all your slaves say these words'.

Allah said:'O Musa, if the seven heavens and all they contain other

than Me (Ghairy) and the seven earths as well,

were all put in one side of a scale and La ilaha ilIa-Allah

put in the other the latter would overweigh them.'"

[This Hadith has been reported by Ibn Hibban,

and Al-Hakim declared it Sahih].

This phrase (Ghairy) is the exception from what is in the heavens.

It should not be misunderstood that Allah is contained within the

heavens or earth since He has described Himself in the Qur'an as the

Transcendent, Most High, Above All, i.e. in 2:255, 20:5,

25:59 and many places elsewhere in His Book.

Indeed the statement is another proof that Allah cannot be

considered within the creation.

[Detailed explanation can be seen in

"Fath-ul-Majid Sharh Kitab-ut-Tauhid].

At-Tirmidhi reports from Anas (May Allah be pleased with him):

He heard Allah's Messenger (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)

saying: "Allah the Most Exalted said: 'O son of Adam,

were you to come to Me with the world full of sins, and meet

Me without making anything partner to Me (Shirk),

I would come to you with a similar amount of forgiveness."

Fear of Shirk (Polytheism)

Allah the Almighty said:

{Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him in

worship, but He forgives except that (anything else)

to whom He pleases.}(4:48, 116)

Prophet Ibrahim (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

{And keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.}(14:35)

It is narrated in the Hadith that Allah's Messenger (peace and

blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"What I fear most for you is a form of Shirk." When asked about it, he

said, "Ar-Riya (Showing oft)."

Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Prophet

Muhammad (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"Whoever dies while ascribing partners to Allah, enters the Hell-fire."

(Al-Bukhari)

Muslim reports from Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) that Allah's

Messenger (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

"Whoever meets Allah (on the Day of Judgement) not having

associated anyone with Him (in worship), shall enter Paradise;

and whoever meets Him having committed Shirk in any way

will enter the Hell-fire."

Benefits of the Phrase

There is No will or power except that of Allah

Narrated Ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace be upon Him) said
“when overwhelmed with worries and disparateness,

one should often recite

‘There is No will or power except that of Allah’"

This prayer is also authenticated in the two Sahihs that

this prayer is one of the hidden treasures of paradise.

Should these prayers not affect a cure for ones worries,

grief and disparateness,

it means that ones condition is serious and, requires

through purification of his system through complete

purgation or detoxification, followed by sincere repentance

and devotion to Allah. Imam Ibn Qayyim says

the above prayer represents fourteen kinds of spiritual remedies

1. Recognizing the oneness of the attribute of Lordship

(Rububiyya)

2. Recognizing the oneness of the attribute of Oneness

(Ulooheeyah)

3. Recognition of the faith with the manifest fact of Allah’s

supremacy through logical signs, with absolute faith regarding

their source.

4. Acknowledging that Allah is free from any injustice

and that he will never cause his servant any undue hardships

without necessity or reason.

5.Confessing that imperfection and failure are the servants own

6. Imploring Allah by his divine names and attributes,

which are revelations His creation must recognize,

and among them is the most embracing and comprehensive of

attributes; Al-Hayy The living Al-Quyyum The Controller

7. Soliciting His help alone.

8. Confession of the servant that Allah is the only provider that

fulfills one’s needs, and that he is the only one to be sought.

9. confirming ones dependence on Him, relying on Him, and

acknowledging that one’s destiny is moving according to the

divine plan that he alone has the power to change it;

that what is decreed is pursuing its course,

and that His ordinance is just.

10. Soliciting the blessing of understanding the divine

revelation living by it,

and to recognizing it as the light of one’s heart and soul.

Through it, one will defeat craving, overcome passion and

lust, and dispel darkness.

Soliciting the blessings of regularly reciting the

divine revelation also comforts one’s heart,

and helps focus ones attachments to what is lasting verses

what is temporal.

11. Asking for forgiveness for ones sins

12. Repenting for ones wrongdoing

13. Taking the course of prayers to receive guidance,

and finally

14. Disclaiming any will or power to effect things,

and rightly attributing all will and power to

Allah the all mighty.

Clarification of the approved deeds

bismillah.jpg

Narrated Jabar ibn Abdullah (Allah be pleased with Him) who said:

‘When Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon Him) gave a khutbah His

eyes became reddened, His voice raised, and his anger grew to the

extent that it were as if he were one exhorting an army saying, “They

will attack you morning and evening,” and he would say,” I have

been sent along with the last Hour like these two”

and he joined his forefinger and middle finger, and would say,

to proceed: Indeed the best speech is the book of Allah

and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad

(peace be upon Him), and the worst of affairs are the newly

invented matters, and every innovation is misguidance.”

reported by Muslim (eng trans. Vol 2 p 410)

This is an explanation of the saying of Allah

“Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allah and he is a

muhsin then his reward is with his Lord, on such shall there be no

fear, nor shall they grieve.” Baqarah: 2/112

The saying Muhsin means:

He follows the messenger (peace be uponHim)

in it, since they are two conditions for the acceptability of an action;

firstly, that it is purely for the sake of Allah alone and secondly that

it is correct, i.e. conforming to the Sunnah.

So if it is done purely (for Allah) but is not a correct action

then it will not be accepted.

Narrated Umm Abdullah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with Her)

who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him) said:

“He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it

will have it rejected.”

Also the Hadith narrated by Aisha (Allah be pleased with Her)

that the messenger of Allah (peace be upon Him)

“He who does an act which our matter is not

[in agreement] with will have it rejected.”

They were related by al-Bukhari & Muslim

Shaykh Ubaid bin Suleiman Al-Jabiri said: in explanation of these

two Ahadith” The action is like dust in the wind and returned back

to the person like dust in his face, and in the eyes of Allah

it is as if never ever existed.”
