Dear brothers and sisters,I have a question, hope I will find an answer on this forum inshaAllah.

Question:In my locality, there is a slum nearby, most of its dwellers are Muslims. So my question is concerning the ladies.
Is a lady who is otherwise a good Mulimah, but she doesnt covers her hairs, other than that whole of her body is covered. She wants to teach the ladies and children of the slum,Qur'an along with its meaning and commentery added to it.Of course while teaching, her head remains covered.
She is skeptical, that will it be okay, for her to teach those children and ladies things, while she does not fully practise Islam. So my question is,should she go ahead and teach them?

Also I would like to have some suggestions, from the members as to how to start, those who are experienced, please give us your insights and views as to how to go ahead in those slums, where along with poverty, there is illiteracy, ignorance,Jahalah,Biddah and many other things, that would be very helpful, inshaAllah.

Hoping to get some answers inshaAllah.

JazakAllah Khayr.

that is a good idea but on the other hand if she has proper knowledge of Quran, why is she still scared of wearing hijab?
It would look rather odd when she will be discussing about hijab while she doesnt wear it, it may kind of show that we wear the hijab out of respect for the Quran, how about out of respect for the creator?
am not trying to judge, it isnt my place to do that.
all in all that would be great.

salaam,

mashaallah this seems to be a good idea. from my point of view, i find that some people require some sort of an incentive to give up their time to learn (as opposed to may be working to survive especialy those who dont have a secure income).

may be you can organise some sort of a committee to do some charitable work like give out food and clothes or may be even employment ideas and in the process teach them quran and the deen? just a half formed idea....

inshaallah all the best and remember us in your dua and we in our.

yes, true about incentives, inshaAllah we'll get to it.We are starting with a small group and most of them are children,so what we are planning is to distribute sweet in every class inshaAllah.Though we are just a few people around 2-3,the Qari who used to teach the kids has left becuase he could not be paid, but alhamdulillah things will grow inshaAllah. Its just a beggining so there might be problems in the start.InshaAllah we shall overcome. Thanks a lot for those points, will consider them all inshaAllah. Thanks a lot for your wishes.
Praying for you,do pray for us too.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Most of us try to find someone to look up to.. And mostly that someone is a teacher.

We have this saying:"You can't give what you don't have".

How can we teach others to behave if we dont behave?? How can we teach others how to practice Islam if we dont practice it??

That would be considered hypocrisy.
