Assalaamu alaikum

I just found on my PC a post I wrote to a non-muslim on another board to try and tell them about Proof of Qur'an. I now thought that of course, the reason I wrote this was for the purposes of Dawah insha'allah. Because I believe that Dawah is an obligation on us all and because I believe that research is a form of Dawah to ourselves - I am posting it here.

What I would like everyone to do please is have a look at it and tell me if I have not explained anything correctly or missed anything out. You marks and criticism insha'allah help me to 'brush up' and learn and keep things accurate and fresh for me - you never know when you may need to speak confidently or accuratly on this wonderous issue masha'allah.

It was with the help of dawah from some excellent brothers and sisters masha'allah that I came to Islam ( 4 years ago now!) and I would love to help pass on this gift to others insha'allah.

None can misguide those whom Allah swt guides and none can guide those whom Allah swt misguides.

But insha'allah helping others to have a chance of Jannah and His love insha'allah to fulfill their purpose is what we should all do.

So here it is. Please bare in mind it is written to a non-muslim and I wrote it about a year ago! Please give it your worst criticism!

"1st we must understand what perfect means. perfect mean flawless, best - agreed? Since little if anything in this world is perfect it can also mean divine - agreed?
The essence of Islam is the Qur'an. The Qur'an is divine and I will explain this to you. Firstly I must make the point that the Qur'an I refer to as divine=perfect is the Arabic Qur'an - the language of Allah swt that it was revealed in -not the English translations. They are not in fact translations but called transliterations as they are not an accurate meaning of the Arabic - this is why you may see slightly differing versions. For this post though since my Arabic is rusty and I am not sure you speak it - I shall use English quotes whose meaning is 99.9% accurate - the message in them is the same.
And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur'an) to Our slave (Muhammad Peace be upon him ), then produce a surah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful. Qur'an 2:23
Or do they say: "He (Muhammad(P)) has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a surah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allah, if you are truthful!" [Qur'an 10:37-38]
I am explaining to you that the Qur'an is perfect in itself since I cannot move on to show that its contents in meaning for mankind is perfect until you can realise that it itself is a divine miracle. The above quotes illustrate that the language of it is its miracle. Language as a whole is rated in terms of sentence structure, prose, meaning, grammar and use. The Quran is perfect in all thse spheres and it has been shown to be impossible for Man to reproduce such a likeness as perfect. for example, Shakespeare was thought of at his time as the most perfect writer, his literature was considered the best. Now in 2006 we can see that yes his literature was advanced for its time but is was not perfect in all these spheres - other writers have since then rivalled or bettered him. Furthermore his works over the years he wrote, differ in style, structure and quality. The Qur'an contains the challenge I have outlined above - reproduce it if you can but in over 1400 years no man has yet completed this challenge - if he could then the Islamic faith would have come to its knees. therefore since it is impossible to reproduce such a flawlessness then it is above man's power - then we can only come to the conclusion it is perfect=divine.

2. The Qur'an was also revealed over many years - if Mohammed pbuh had written it as some claim then his writing style would have improved or altered over the 30 chapters just as my writing skills are bette than they were when I was 10 years old and perhaps will be better when I am 50. It remains consistent from beginning to end. Furthermore Mohammed pbuh was illiterate - but the meaning applies still if another had written it for him.
The Qur'an has also not been altered or added to over the plus 1400 years by man as the Bible has (old and new testaments) since any addition or alteratin would undoubtedly stand out and be a flaw in the perfect structure.
It is divine in its being, a miracle meaning not of this world and as we see from futher quotes it is the word of Allah swt (God) directly revealed to us. Jesus pbuh had his miracles of his time (healing the sick, water to wine) and Moses pbuh had his (turning staff into snake) - at Mohammed's pbuh time many were illiterate. Language and literature were the miracles of his time. In order for us to recognise him as the Prophet he was, just as Jesus and Moses pbut were regonised by their miracles, he needed a miracle from Allah swt to show this. the Qur'an is that miracle.
It was revealed to us as a seal, a final Book to confirm the Books before - no book and no Prophet will ever come again and in order to secure this, this was another reason for Allah swt to make the Qur'an the miracle, divine, perfect itself. In order that it might not be changed.
And this Qur'an is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurat (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. laws and orders, etc, decreed for mankind) - wherein there is no doubt from the the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).Qur'an 10:37-38
The above I ask you to research for your own accord and come to me with any questions you may have.
I shall leave you to ponder for a while, Peace."

I shall await your comments!!

Jazak'allah brother some excellent points I can add in and explain insha'allah! It is good for me and I hope one day it will be good for others insha'allah - Allah swt has given us a gift and we should invite others too it insha'allah!

Arabic is not the language of God, but is the language of the Quran. God does not have a language; He created language so He is beyond the language concept. He revealed the Torah in Hebrew and the Gospel in Aramaic.

Asalaamalikum,

I don't mean to go off tangent, but in regards to language, do you or anyone else know why Allah swt made so many languages in the world?

I remember a long time ago, I'm not sure where I read something about Babylonian times and something about the people trying to build a high tower because they wanted to "reach" up to God, but they all could not speak the same language, thus could not build the tower - it was something like that, not sure if it was true or not.

Baraka Allah feeki for your dedication to spread the word of Islam, may Allah (SWT) reward you inshallah. I have few suggestions which might be wrong or not appropriate:

1) I dont think your example of shakespear was suitable. May be Your example should be based on the bible and how many writers (Matthew) who who changed the words of the bible, but the Holy Qur'an can not be changed by any muslim scholars, a believer, non believer, athiest. In fact the grammer in the Holy Qur'an is the most difficult to learn, and as I heard from different Shiekhs no one has completed learning the Qur'an ''Grammer'', there is still many things for mankind to learn from the Qur'an. Allah (SWT) knows best regarding the lthis statment''.

2) May be it appropraite to mention how Allah (SWT) told us in the Holy Qur'an about the past and the furture very accuratly, including signs which already appeared, science (for e.g. how human birth, mountains, rain earth quakes, are very well explained in the Qur'an in which science recently found many beneficial information regarding Islamic science from the Holy Qur'an'.

I am not a scholar either, I hope my suggestion is related to your main objectives inshallah. jazaki Allah khair for your excellent effort...

All the best

Salaams brother HumblwWun

I have started a new thread with some information - a quick link.

Salaams brother SaifuDeen

Jazak'allah for your comments, I think you are right that the point about using the Bible as an example is very important to show how Allah swt has protected the Qur'an. I also think you are right there should be of course a lot more about the miraclous information contained in the Qur'an that the Prophet Muhammed pbuh could not possibly have known ( or any other). A lot of non muslims refute the Qur'an saying that Muhammed pbuh wrote it! Astifrughallah!

Keep the comments coming insha'allah!

:salam2: sister!

:ma: it's good to make dawah for Islam alhamdulillah!

Why don't you add something like the proof of "Science in the Qur'an"? That could help as well :inshallah:

Salaams sister

Just sent you a PM :hijabi:

Insha'allah I think I should have a 'Part 2' which is about the science of the Qur'an and the miracles contained within it. This part I think is about the miracle of the language etc and I think my next effort should be trying to explain the science - its good for me to remember and research - keeps it fresh in my head.

I think more muslims insha'alllah should learn how to explain these things insha'allah - I guess as a revert alhamdulillah - its 'newer' for me but you know unless we review and talk about these things constantly - we are not spreading the word of Allah swt and proving it to people and we can get to the stage where we believe 100% but dont know how to put into words why we believe that Islam is the Truth - many non-muslims often ask "why Islam - why not Christianity, or Judaism or any other religion" We need to show WHY Islam insha'allah!

Salaams xx
