Divine Love (Godly Love)
Love is the worshiped idol in this era. It is the idol of this time's ignorance to which sacrifices are offered from the youths' blood, time, and attention and incense is burnt in that misty niche (mihrab) Moreover it's the trade of the people of wealth and the amusement of the people of passion.
Love is one of the most important and serious concepts which is falsified in our era. It is falsified by Media that shows it sick and deformed in songs, novels, movies, theater and TV. In Media, love is almost nothing but some tries of seduction and temptation between a man and a woman. All the time, nothing interests the director or the showman but how to get his actresses naked.
In Europe , they exceed this to show more horrible and disgusting things. In the Arab world, we follow in the same footsteps, imitating in stupidity in the name of love, freedom, art and renewal.
Actually, that is a phenomenon of backwardness and a shameful retreating of the whole humanity to a primitive animalism and sensational paganism (materialism). That materialistic ignorance is considered lower than the pre-Islamic paganism. That is because this time it is armed with Media and other electronic instruments that spread the immoral epidemics faster than the light.
There is a bad need for the whole world to listen to that whispering, pure voice that describes the reality of love. Ibnarabi said that sexual love is like a veil that hides what is behind it and it never satisfies those who are fond of it. It is just like drinking seawater, the more you drink, the more you get thirsty. He called it racial love because it is directed to just one image and by sticking only to that image, the lover becomes veiled and unsighted, as he cannot realize the facts behind it.
Natural love is higher than sexual love. It is directed to all kinds of beauty; women, flowers, butterflies and etc.
Spiritual love is higher than natural love. In spiritual love, you love the object for its essence and its core. You don't love because you get enjoyment, you don't think of a meeting or a call. In this kind, love is something like absorption and reflection or scrutiny.
Godly love is higher than spiritual love. In this love, longing is directed to the origin and the source of every thing: our Lord, Allah, all glory be to Him.
The whole creations had directed with love to Allah and experienced that divine love from the very beginning, since the moment of (be).In this moment, Allah looked at the whole creation in the nonexistence and ordered them to be, and then they looked at Him and became infatuated with love to Him.
Except for that divine love, there wouldn't have been the motion of the whole world or any seeking for perfection. We all seek perfection and move towards perfection and there is no perfection except in his Face.
