THE INTERCESSION OF THE QUR’AAN FOR ITS BEHOLDER

This is another virtue of the holy Quran,as it will come as an intercessor on the day of Resurrection.

The Messenger of Allah ! said:
"Read the Qur'aan. For verily it will come forth on the Day of
Resurrection as an intercessor for its readers." (Reported by Muslim)

And he ! also said:
"The Qur’aan and its people, those who implemented it, will he
brought forth on the Day of Resurrection, (being) led by Surat al-
Baqarah and al-Imram, to support their beholders." (Reported by Muslim)

And he ! also said:
"The Qur’aan is an intercessor (which by Allah's permission)
intercedes, and an opponent (which is) truthful. He who appoints it as
his leader (then it) will lead him to Paradise. And he who puts it behind
him, (then it) will lead him to the Fire." (Reported by Ibn Hibban in his 'Sahih'
and AI-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab Al-Iman from Jabir ibn Abdullah ". It was also reported by
At-Tabarani and AI-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab AI-Iman from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud ". The
Hadith is Sahih.

I cant find the post now, although one way we oppress ourselves is by not reading 100 verses from the Qur'an. Allahu Akbar.

From the Book Tanbeeh al-Ghafileen by Imam as-Samarqandi;

Sufyan ath-Thauri, may Allah have mercy on him, said that ten people are regarded as oppressors:


1-The person who prays for himself, but forgets his parents and other believers.

2-The person who does not recite at least a hundred verses of the Qur’an daily.

3-The person who leaves the Masjid without performing at least two raka’ahs of salah.

4-The person who passes a graveyard without greeting the deceased or praying for them.

5-The person who enters a city on a Friday and leaves without performing the Friday prayer.

6-That man or woman in whose vicinity a learned person comes and none acquires any religious knowledge from him.

7-Those two people who love each other for the pleasure of Allah but are unaware of each others names.

8-That person who is invited by another but does not accept his invitation (when acceptance does not contradict the Shari`ah).

9-That youngster that has no commitments yet does not acquire any religious knowledge or manners.

10-That person who has eaten to his fill while his neighbour goes hungry.

i just finished memorizing and reciting a few moments ago, reading this post serves as even more inspiration for me to continue reading the qur'an and reciting it. everyday when i go out driving , from the moment i get in the car i begin reciting every surah that know. it's great to help build and maintain your memory. today i'm off from work and my main thing that i enjoy on my off days is that i can dedicate most of that day to studying qur'an.
