I would like to know what you all think about the movie entitled "The Kingdom".

I don't watch a lot of movies but I passed by a video shop and saw the covered displayed and read the synopsis and thought I'd grab it.

At first, my first impression was the movie was bias and thought "as usual they'd show Muslims and Saudis as the bad guys" but I started to like it as I was watching. They showed that every place and every race have bad and good things in it. I love the part where they showed a man praying in the middle of a dessert beside his car (implying that Muslims take the time to stop over at the middle of their travel and worship Allaah swt). They showed a lot of good traits and Islaamic practices Alhamdulillaah.

I also thought Jennifer Garner looked pretty in her abaya :D :ma:

The writers put in a good humour in it too.

I don’t watch movies either but I thought it was a sold out attempt by the Saudi government to appease the US/Saudi relations. It is more like telling he give the oath of allegiance to the US government. This film was realized to conjure American audience into showing we are with you not against you. I seriously thought it was a waist on the PR side. Again this is my observation as some one who didn’t view the movie.

Thanks for you reply.

The movie was actually under Universal Pictures so I don't think it was the Saudi Govt who thought about that movie.

Again this is my observation as some one who didn’t view the movie.

Yup, I totally raised my eyebrow too when I first saw the trailer.

Ummm nope. It's about a suicide bombing in an American compound in Riyadh, K.S.A. that killed innocent lives. Three special FBI agents (with the help of a Saudi officer) went to investigate and look for the mastermind.

I have not seen it, but subhanAllah, the world is really a beautiful place.. I would hope that those who hate Muslims will wake up and see Islam and Muslims for its beautiful reality.

I respect your view sis and thanks for the input. I don't see it as a movie about war in religion, rather it was about good and evil. The enemy there were not "Muslims" rather suicide bombers. Officer Farsi (Saudi Police Officer) was a good man and was portrayed in that movie as a brave and God-fearing person.
