The model muslim.

Umm Zubayr
Let's imagine the daily life of a muslim!

Assalamo3alaykoum warahmatollahi wabarakatoh

This is a thread in which inshallah, we will try to resume the sayings and the actions of a muslim in his own environment throughout his day..from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep again..

Okay, our model muslim is going to be called Abdullah :), let's point out that Abdullah works about 7 hours a day..

I will start inshallah..don't forget to correct me, to complete..don't forget that there are many different versions of the invocations/ duas..

Step 1: Waking up..starting the day with the worship and rememberance of the Creator.

The alarm clock rings 45 minutes before the fajr adhan..(I chose 45, because rare are those people who when they have worked the previous day, wake up at the beginning of the last part of the night)

As he wakes up he says: 'La Ilaha ilallaho wahdaho la charika lah, lahol molko, walahol hamdo, wahowa 3ala kouli chay'ine qadir'. 'Alhamdoulilahi wasobhanallahi walla ilaha ilallaho, wallaho akbar, wala hawla wala qowata illah bilah' 'Allahoma rfirli'

'None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without any partner, to Him belong sovergnty and praise and He is over all things wholly capable. How perfect Allah is, and all praise is for Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Allah is the greatest and there is no power nor might eexcept with Allah, the Most High, the Supreme, O my Lord forgive me.'

From Sahih al-Bokhari

-'Alhamdolillahiladhi ahyana ba3da ma amatana, wa ilayhi nouchourh'
'Praise be to Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and unto Him is the resurection.'

He stands up, with his right foot first..

and heads to the toilet..

Step 2: Even when going/using the toilet don't forget to mention Allah..

To protect himself from the jiins, he recites this dua:

-' Bismillah, allahoma ini a3udubika minal khobti wal khaba ite'

[In the name of Allah] O Lord! I seek refuge with You from all evil and evil-does.'

And when he comes out, he recites this one:

'Gofrhanak'

'I ask You [Allah] for forgiveness.'

He then heads towards the bathroom..in order to perform his ablutions (wudhu)...

Step 3: Purification, Minor Ablutions..

-anyone wants to do it?..-

Wa Salamo3alaykoum warahmatollahi wabarakatoh

nice thread masha'Allah

I record that i'm following it.

Just wanted to double check the translation of this one:

' Bismillah, allahoma ini a3udubika minal khobti wal khaba ite'

[In the name of Allah] O Lord! I seek refuge in You against the male and female demons'

Other Arabic speakers agree with this ?

Umm Zubayr
I have made few changements..especially in the english translation..in order to get a more accurate version..please correct if anything is wrong inshallah..

So where were we with this Abdullah :)

Step 3: Wudhu

He starts his ablutions by saying: Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

'In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful'

He performs his wudhu in the order Our noble Prophet used to do it.

Once he finishes, he recites the shahada:

'I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammed is His slave and Messenger.'

Followed by this invocation:

Allahoumma -j'alni mina-t-tawwabina wa-j'alni mina-l moutahhirin...meaning:

'O Allah, make me of those who return to you often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and pure'.

Remember that the one who performs the ablutions in the proper way followed by the shahada, all the doors of Paradis are open to him, and according to a authentic hadith, he will choose by wich one to enter...

As well as wudhu (ablutions), Abdullah uses Siwak and takes care not to waste any water..just as the Prophet Muhammed saws used to do.

Step4: Few nawafil prayers..before going to the masjiid[/COLOR

Step4
Abdullah starts a serie of deux rakats unit prayer..
It is important to know that from the moment he starts his prayer, he is totally focused and performs his salatas the Prophet used to pray saws..
Step5: On the way to the majiid

Come on guys, can someone do the next one? :)
ps: inshallah..as we go through the day, we can introduce other characters..

Umm Zubayr
Where's your imagination gone?

On the way to the masjiid..what are the duas the Prophet saws used to recite, did he use to walk, what did he made sure of?

Libinette

Umm Zubayr
I guess i'll do this on my own then..

Step 5: On the way to the masjiid

Let's get into Abdullah's mind as he heads to the masjiid for Fajr salat..

Abdullah prefers to walk rather than to take the car, because he knows that when a muslim walks towards a masjiid, every step he takes wipes out a sin, and the other elevate him from one rank..he even tries to find a little 'detour' so that he can increase the expiation of his sins and increase his elevation in terms of ranks..

Abdullah remembers that the Prophet Muhamed saw said, that indeed this prayer is very heavy, meaning difficult for the hypocrites, and the way to differenciate himself from this category of people is to take make the effort to pray Fajr in the masjiid..

He also remembers that the Propeht Muhammed saw said, the one who prays Fajr in congregation is under Allah's protection..

He tells himself that praying in congregation, as the Prophet saw used to say, it's as if he had prayed during the whole night..

And that if he prayed at home, he wouldn't earn the 27 hasanaats that praying in congregation would get him..

As he goes out of his house he says:

'Bismillahi, tawakkaltou 'ala llahi, wa la hawla wa la qouwata illa bi llah'

'In the Name of God, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except Allah'

Or/And

-'Allahouma inni a'oudhou bika ane adhillah aw azillah aw ouzalla, aw atlima aw outlama, aw ajhala aw youjhala 'alayya'

-'O Allah, i take refuge with you lest I should stray or be led astray; slip or be tripped; opress or be opressed, or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly'

Then, he heads to the masjiid, preferably walking..but he can take his car/bus is the masjiid is far.. and recites the following dua

- 'O Allah, place within my heart light; and upon my heart light; and upon my tongue light; and within my ears light; and within my eyes light; and place above me light, and beneath me light; and on my right light; and on my left light; and behind me light and place light within my soul; augment/increase light for me and greaten light for me; and grant me light and place light in my tendons; and light in my flesh; and light in my blood; and light in my hair and light in my skin. [O Allah, place light for me in my grave and light in my bones]. [And increase me with light, and increase me with light, and increase me with light][And grant me light upon light.]

What a beautiful dua isn't it?

Finally, our Abdullah arrives at the door of the masjiid..

Step 6: At the entrance of the masjiid..

Step 6: At the entrance of the masjiid

When Abdullah arrives at the door of the masjiid, he doesn't run towards it, If there's another brother or an elderly person who is coming he lets them enter first and pass salams to them..

Then, he takes his shoes and says:

-'A3udu billahil 3adim, wa bi wajhijil karim, wa bisssoltanihil qadim mina shaytani rajim'

-'I take refuge with Allah, the Supreme and with His noble Face, and His eternal authority from the accursed devil.'

Abdullah Ibn Amr said: 'If the believer says this invocation, he will be protected from shaytan for the whole day.' authentic hadith rapported by Abou Daoud..

Then, he sends his prayers upon the Prophet saw: 'Allahoma Salli 3ala Mohamed' or he says: 'Bismillah wa salat wa salam 3ala rassoulillah..'

Abdullah then recite the dua when entering the masjiid

-'Allahouma ftah li abwaba rahmatik..'

-'O Allah, open the gates of Your Mercy for me.'

Abdullah wants to get the 30 hassanates, therefore he gives the full, most complete salaam to his brothers:

-'Assalamo 3alaykoum warahmatollahi wabarakatoh'

And performs two ra'kaats as the Prophet saw advised when entering a place of worship..

He, then waits patiently for the adhan and makes dikr which he likes and which has a lot of merit..for example:'sobhanallah wabihamdihi, sobhanallah al 3adim..'

Step 7: The waiting for the call to prayer
