I grew up with Arab-Christian friends who loved each other. They always uttered Allah when they spoke. It wasn't until I came to the US I found that all christians used the description word "God" instead... found it odd... but didn't argue.

MashaAllah nice work sister. aramaic is my native language and every Syriac speaking Christian uses "Alaha" for God. It is the same as in Arabic. It can neither be made plural nor does it have a gender. It is unique and only used for the Creator. To this day when when the Aramaic speaking Christians of Iraq say "Bshimat Alaha" which is the same as "Bismillah", and my mother and I still use it whenever. when my mother eats or does anything she says bshimat Alaha and there is no mention of a trinity. Aramaic is a Semitic language and similar to Arabic and Hebrew. In fact, the Akkadian language, the ancient language of my ancastors is even closer to classical Arabic like that of the Quran al kareem. It is even closer than Aramaic is. There are many words that are almost identical such as "Qaryana" which is "one who reads".

I always laugh when ignorant westerners attack the name Allah and even my mother gets very offended because she uses it too. Allah was known to the Arab Jews, Christians and Pagans long before the birth of Rasulullah (saaws). Anyone who claims that Muhammad (saaws) invented it himself is ignorant. My mom's denomination at one point was purely tawhid and they were even declared hereitcs by the Romans and pauline followers, and most of them (Nestorians/Jacobites) embraced Islam between the 7th and 9th centuries in masses. Today they are a small minority but still use the language and even their scripture (P*!*!*!*!ta) is different from other versions of the Bible.

May Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala reward you for your efforts and grant you the highest Jannah, inshaAllah amin.

Yes brother Ayman, there are dictionaries and it is still alive but spoken by only a minority. There are books, web sites and even classes which teach Aramaic.

What is the difference between Elohim and Eloah. I was under the impression that Elohim is an aggrandized conjugation of Eloah used in supplications much like we say Allaahumma in our supplications.
